"General insurers will pay out about A$500 million in claims related to the floods, with the remainder covered by major global reinsurers,"

I would settle for $1,000,000 of all that.

"TWO bull sharks have been spotted swimming past the McDonald’s restaurant in Goodna.

Goodna butcher Steve Bateman saw one of the sharks swimming through the flooded waters of Williams Street near his bucher’s (sic) shop in the St Ives shopping centre yesterday.

There were several reports of another shark spotted in Queen Street, the main street through Goodna."

Cyclone Yasi has been upgraded to a Category 4 storm.

Forecasters say it is likely to further strengthen and could generate winds of up to 175 mph before it hits land on Wednesday morning.

Chuck aren't you glad you did not opt to rush off to Aussie land on the first flood for if you had Kasi would force you to flee.  Accuweather feels Kasi could be similar to Katrina when it lands and it might go over 600 miles inland.  Australia will be a mess after this.

Crawford has a large presence in Australia with alot of local adjusters. I am sure they would deploy first.  Crawford has sent out notice of potential work to see if you are available for standby. Would need considerable work history, a passport and drivers license. Not sure if they use Xact in Aus  but Crawford uses it exclusively. If you go could be 3 months plus. Would not want to go then get axed would be a long ride home.  I worked for them in England  it was a day rate plus expenses. I would expect something similar in Aus since the client carrier is Lloyds who does not have a propensity to pay quickly on schedule claims.  The flight to Aus is over 25 hours one way.

Twenty two towns are flooded. It is interesting how their issues are similar but different from the U.S
Hundreds had to be rescued by helicopter
