Did you know that this October will mark CADO's 15th year online!

In one way you could say it was born from the rubble of a catastrophe. CADO was created while I was working as a Cat Adjuster handling claims from the Northridge earthquake in 1994. Of course 1994 was way to busy to do anything but take care of the claims. But by the summer of 95 I found some time to explore a very young web. My interest in the web had started on another catastrophe in Alaska, in the spring of 1989, the Exxon Valdez Oil spill. You see at that time I had a old lunch box computer that I used to communicate with the lower 48 via the web using CompuServe. My interest in Catastrophe Claims started in 1980 while learning the trade from some of the best in business (my dad and others) and it seems that I have always had an interest in computers, in 83 after Hurricane Alicia I took a break from the Catastrophe work and was able to take a job working with some big computers, these things were about 2' wide and almost 4' high but they were computers. So I guess all of these things came together in 1995 with CADO, the site at that time was called "The Disaster Page, a Catastrophe Adjuster's Home Page". At that time (and I hope now) it was a way share information and keep in touch with other Cat Adjusters no matter where the assignment was. Anyway I hope you enjoy the site.

Thank you for keeping CADO alive for 15 years and stay tuned for some special events to celebrate our 15th year online.

    Take Care,

    Roy

    Thanks, Roy!

You've brought a lot of people together, created a venue to network and socialize, and out of that some dear friendships and lifelong associations have been made.   I appreciate your contribution and selfless dedication to the industry by creating a place such as this,  and giving us a place to hang out, and (hopefully) learn from our colleagues.  Thank you Roy!      ~M~

Good gracious, 15 years. I got on CADO not too long after you started it and have enjoyed every minute of it. I certainly enjoy the CADO conference where Janice and I were able to meet a lot of good people. Thanks for your service to this community Roy.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Thanks for the comments and support.

Tom are you doing OK? I noticed that you have not posted to your Knowledge and Attitude thread in awhile.
