    Can anyone help out here?  I have read the new information for Xact 27 but cannot figure out why I cannot perform the simple function of creating a roof overlay using the square break tool on this version.  I have tried and tried and tried to create a simple overlay on a hip roof using square break.  Roof 1 hip ridge is following the new roof 2 instead of staying put which is making the drawing incorrect.  I have tried all the new locks and such, no luck.  HELP!!! I am ready to throw the laptop out the window....

    suzukini,

    When you state overlay are you talking about an extension to a roof as shown below or something else?

    The square break tool appears to work the same in 27 as it did in the prior versions. The diagram with the extension below was created in 27 using the instructions I posted in a Blog for version 24. (click here to view that post)  However, I may have misunderstood the question.

    I believe that they may not be holding control while pulling out the hip extension. If you do not hold control this would result in a continuance of the original roof with the same properties instead of an offset roof.

    I had the same problem. Contact xactimate support via chat. They will need to install a patch that will correct all of your claims. This correction will remain even after an entire system transfer from one computer to another.

    Not only does this problem exist with roof overlays, but for several other sketch functions.
     
    I ended up getting a free phone call after the chat session didn't work and I was told that this glitch is a hit or miss deal.
