Has anyone tried it yet?  I am curious as to whether I will be able to go to Windows 7 prior to carriers switching to the new version of Xact.  I have seen mixed informaiton.  On the Xact site they say that it's not tested, bu that Microsoft says vista programs will work with version 7.  Just curious to see if anyone is currently using Xact 25 with Windows 7, and if so, what problems it is presenting you with.

The only problem I have incountered is importing photos. I have found a way around this which seems to work fine. Other than that everything works great and no more crashes or locking up as with Vista. I have Xactimate version 25.4. There is another topic on this and if you will click on the word Xactware it will take you to it. Not sure how to add the link. I am one of the adjusters that they are referring to.

I get around the problem by using the Picasa photo program by importing the photos into it and then exporting them as an HTLM document to a folder on the desktop. I then can load them into Xactimate when I am ready.

The other adjuster has been able to make his work by loading from an external card reader. Mine would not. Not sure why.

There is a problem with Xactimate loading into Windows 7. It is in the sql server. By default it will try and load the 32bit and 7 is a 64bit operating system. You have to load the 64bit in order for it to work. Both are in Xactimate so you have to go into the program and manually load it.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. There are two versions 32bit and 64bit. Newley purchased pc's will most likely be 64bit.

I have since made the switch to windows 7 and have had none of the problems that others have experienced.  All is working well, so it appears they are compatible.  I've been working it for over a month now with nowhere near the problems I had with Vista.
