Just had the need for an air card. Found the Virgin Mobile pre-paid card. $79 for the USB unit, $20-40-60 for the service. Bought a $20 card to see how long it lasts. Week later I have used about $5 worth. Just checking emails, CADO, sending receiving faxes. Not streaming video, skyping or facebooking. No contracts, just buy a card when your out, and use what you need. Use the hotel wifi when I'm there. Worth a try.

From my personal experience, do not get AT&T air card service. It works great in metropolitan areas and on the interstate, but the second you are off on secondary highways and sideroads, the coverage is zilch. Experience with the Verizon aircard while working SF claims is much better in off the map areas. I've never used Virgin so don't know about it.

We have just upgraded to a Sprint "hotspot"  it will allow for 5 internet devices at one time.  We absolutely love it.  Have had no issues and found our speed with files and pictures to be very good.

I have used Verizon cards for years and have traveled literally all over the country and in almost every location I have had coverage. I'm currently working down in LA for Worley on the BP spill and an on it right now.... five bars out of five. It's my choice.

Verizon works great down south. That would be my choice. I have it and NO complaints!

I posted on here about a yr ago when we first set up clear internet, which is the only 4g internet out there now. Clear has partnered with sprint so they can offer a 4g and a 3g all in one USB modem. When im not on a storm i work for this company so i can tell anyone all the good and bad about these USB modems. They are better faster and cheaper then anyother air card on the market. I am not tring to sell anything, all i want to do is give everyone a chance to see the products out on the market. The usb card in a 4g market has speeds from 6meg down and 1 meg up, and when they are in sprints 3g market the speeds are slower just because sprint, at&t,verizon and everyother air card supplier still operate on the old 3g network. Also while you are in a 4g network there is no cap on how much you can down load. If you have any questions email me at Jasonleeaustin@aol.com

I think Virgin piggybacks on Verizon I believe, like Boost piggybacks Nextel
