Wow, I have read every post on here and heres my opinion from someone that has been in the business for a long time. First, nobody is guaranteed a job just cause they go to a school. Are you kidding me. Man we should give every law school and med school flunkie their money back cause i bet their mom and dad told them if they went to med or law school they would be successful. Give me a break guys. Sounds to me like sour grapes for people that have no business being adjusters in the first place. Ive checked into U.S. Staffing and hey, you don't have to choose them. I for one could care less about em but some of you seem to be on a one man mission to slander em to death. You wanna go to Vale then go to Vale. You wanna spend thousands of dollars to get a CAT 3 certification from Xactimate or whatever they call it then go ahead. Certifications DONT MATTER. I could have all the certifications in the world but if somebodys brother in law needs work before I do, chances are they are going to get it. Its the nature of the business. So sorry nobody out there told you guys. A lot of you need some big bites of humble pie. There are plenty of other independents out there. I happen to work for an independent company out of Oklahoma-a small firm that mostly handles commercial losses and day claims. The key word there is DAY CLAIMS. If you want steady work then apply for a company as a psuedo staff adjuster. But if you want to roll dice and be a CAT adjuster, you better know your stuff and be prepared to go without any work for months at a time. Everybody wants to get rich quick and then cry about it when they don't. I gotta tell ya, some of the comments in here just make me sick. My opinion, since this seems like the place to give one. Get your training wherever you can and for a reasonable price if possible. The best training in the world is to ride along and have someone mentor you. Hands on experience beats training classes anyday. Learn the programs inside and out. Not just Xactimate but anything and everything out there. If your not too old take a staff adjuster position and work for a couple of years, then go hunt for big money. Just don't give someone your money willingly and then think that they owe you something. Its not the way the world works. Lastly, there appears to be some individuals bad-mouthing companies on these forums in attempts to pump up their own training facility. One word-SHAMELESS. Hopefully we will all continue to find work and be prosperous.

I have no particular grudge against US Staffing. I was, at one time, on their list for potential deployment and they kept calling me and trying to interest me in classes that were way below my level of expertise, but that was only a minor annoyance. I do not begrudge anyone trying to sell their product. The one thing that did disturb me was that they were advertising on CADO that they were looking for people to handle daily claims in various states. When I called them to inquire about this I was told that they do not do daily claims. They told me they only acted as a cat company. I think the advertisement of daily claims was just a come on and was less than honest.

Their contract has the 2 paragraphs that will keep all good adjusters away. We pay you when we get paid(WPU) and hold harmless and indemnity (HHI) lets use these 3 letters for all vendors who use adjusters as their line of credit. If they want to have a finders fee I think 5% of the gross billing that is paid on time is very fair. This was the fee on the earthquake in 1994 in LA.Ask ever vendor who calls you and lets post on this site. If they are all exposed, we will be better off. Its better to stay home than to be cheated out of your fee bills on your closed files.

Tom, Tim and Ray...... Have either 3 of you worked for this company in the past. You seem to really know a lot about them. Just wondering. I just talked to a buddy of mine that worked Ike for them and he got paid every two weeks whether the company got paid or not. Hmmmmmm interesting. Are you reading a current contract? Can you also tell me the ins and outs of Crawford, Pilot, Wardlaw and any other IA out there? Thanks guys!!!

I pulled up their contract and read it, also I needed their 5 day xmate school to make a living, I disagree. The three vendors you ask about are in the top 6-7.

If he has a bachelors degree go to work for an insurance company; if he has 4-5 yrs exp. try Pilot.

I for one would like to apologize for any of my behavior on this site. Its just obvious who this "Tape Measure" person is and I hope anyone that reads his comments can see through it. If not just take a look at some of the posts on the Rope and Harness site and you'll figure it out. This will be my last post on this site as I want no part of this anymore. I will say this though. If US Staffing has good attorneys Tape Measure better not hope they find out who he really is. And for the record, this individual never attended a US Staffing class, he only copied txt from others which is what he does. See Rope and Harness topic.

Ok ladies and gentlemen let me give you my first hand and personal opinion of US Staffing Adjusting Services. Yes I’m a Newbie to the insurance adjusting field and just completed a 3 week educational and basic training in Irving, TX. Adjusting 101 was instructed by Mr. Jerry Lott who did a great job thru out this 4 day course. I’m sure he’s teaching while he waits for the next big one, and truly is a compassionate experienced, professional adjuster. This was a refresher course for the experienced home builder, home remodeler, home inspector or construction estimator you really should have these prerequisites to do adjusting. How else would you know what to look for or know what your looking at. We spent a fair amount of time putting our business action plan together learning the things NOT TO DO when your deployed to your first storm ensuring that you remain from start to finish and then be asked to return to the next one!! Thanks Jerry
Xactimate 25 I & II was a 5 day course instructed by Sarah Walker and Danny Cave. This was a basic computer program course giving us the necessary knowledge and requirements to properly estimate and submit a claim to the insurer with out it being REJECTED!! Yes it will take many more hours practicing/ working this program to be truly proficient but it was well worth the time. Thanks Sarah & Danny.
Texas All Lines Licensing, now let me tell you about BD Smith AIC,CPCU and David Moore. These two instructors had there act together and really made these last 4 days fly by. Any time someone can teach me something that I can retain and understand that a over priced law firm or our government has put together in a document, my hats off to them. Its now wonder why there pass rate is in the high 98 % Thanks BD & David I will see you for Auto.
Now to answer the questions US Staffing tells you many times from start to finish there are no guaranties in life or getting on there roster they only keep the cream of the crop, but I do know when your file is turned in and approved your money will be in the bank in 2 weeks.
Now if I only knew !!!

I had a very positive experience at the US Staffing training facility. Just one question..... Who is this Kevin Kramer guy? Is he really bashing his competition on an open forum. Does anybody else see this as chicken s! I recommend nobody go to this guys school.

I think we all are weary of this topic about the training. Now why don,t they post their employment contract. That is how you really judge a catastrophe vendor. Far that matter why dont all the vendors who do not furnish GOOD E & O coverage and pay day ever 2 week on turned in files to the carrier label themselves as back street vendors for adjusters with some flaws in their background or training ?

US Staffing's contract is posted right on their website. Go to www.usstaffingadj.com. CLick on "Documents". Select either "Experienced Indepedent Adjuster" or "Student Adjuster" and scan through the documents in their pdf. It looks like a pretty straight forward contract and anyone can look at it. it's the last document in the pdf. The only difference is the percentage - experienced IA's get 65% and the new ones just out of class are at 60%. It's right there. And if you want to know how they pay - why don't you just call them?
