 I am making a cracked windshield claim on my 2008 Dodge Ram truck.  I am insured with State Farm.  I bought my comprehensive coverage's deductible to .00.

I was shocked when I took my truck to the approved shop and the owner states that I would not have the same windshield, when questioned he stated that the etching black crap around the preimeter of the wind shield is not covered by State Farm.  The glass company's owner states that the black crap in imbedded into the wind shied and not an add on.  He states that to get the same wind shield with the black crap on the perimeter would cost me about 300.00. 

I spoke to my State Farm agent and he called the auto claims dept. and confirmed that etchings, signage, or logos are not covered. 

I tried to look up my auto policy on the internet and found only a 05 98 policy.  it does not have a reduction in windshield claims

I have not worked an auto claim since my days with the Hartford in 1974-1975.   Does this seem to be true coverage and is it industry wide??
