I just received the following information and want to share it with the community.

"Just to let you know that Hood is in the hospital and has had multiple strokes. Has been in there since the 18th of June... Cannot speak and has a Tracheotomy. I know that our prayers are with him and hope that he will recover. He is Doyles Town Hospital in PA. If anyone would like to send flowers or cards please do so as this might create a spark and let him know that we are all thinking about him."

Dave is a CADO Life Member and has supported our community for years.  I consider Dave be a dear friend and we are praying for his full recovery. Please join us with your prayers.

    Roy

     PS

I have known Dave for many years and consider him one of the most knowledgable adjusters around, certainly a wizard on construction. Janice and I both love and respect  him and have appreciated our friendship with him very much.

Dave, we all wish you a speedy recovery and have you in our prayers. Hang in there buddy.

I called for Dave this morning and was able to talk to his wife. Dave passed away on Thursday, July 30, so his wife told me. She was much too emotional for me to ask about his funeral. I have informed Roy of this. He also has been trying to find out Dave's status.

Janice and I have lost a very dear friend and compatriot. We have know Dave Hood for many years. We have wined and dined with him and got to know a fantastic human being. We constantly shared information and humor. I am really going to miss our monthly calls to each other. We really love the guy. I have been the only one to inquire about his health and condition, so his wife said, and I find that very sad. This man had character and knowledge beyond many of us. This industry has lost a fine human being and adjuster. May his soul rest in heaven. See you shortly, Dave.

Janice called and talked to Darlene, Dave's wife. According to her, there will be a private immediate family only memorial service this coming Friday night. In late September, they plan to take a sailboat out, which was something Dave really enjoyed, and drop bottles with messages to celebrate Dave’s life.

She also said she wished some of Dave’s friends would call, so I have shown the home number above. She also asked that the family be kept in your prayers.

Darlene said that Dave had asked that if anything happened to him and if anyone wanted to make donations, to do so in his name to: American’s Feeding Americans, Emergency Caravan, which is part of the “Feed the Children Program”. They are based in Oklahoma City, Ok. And can be contacted on line at,
