RJortberg,

I make sure that I do the diagram the night before or prior to going out to the loss.  If its a really bad image then I just use it a scope sheet and then do what you just said take a few more measurements then just pull the lines to those locations.  For example if there is a tree blocking the corner of the house then i will make sure i get one of those measurments.  I have found that most of the pictures that i get are very good in my area.  On the last 2 hail storms that I adjusted for I only had one complaint that my measurements were off from a roofer.  When he called i was kinda rude to him because eveyone always says that my diagrams are perfect and never had a problem with my measurments.  Come to find out I was wrong and just forgot to put in one area on my diagram.  OOPS

I tried to use the other diagraming services but the thing that i dont like about them is the wait time and the price.  assureclac is only $6 and allowed me do make the money back for the entire storm after one day.

We use XM8 to do footprints for commercial losses to calculate SF for coinsurance. Great for oddly shaped bldgs. Set wall thickness to zero and call the room Footprint. Then its shadow serves as a roof outline plus overhang. Have not used for scenes.

There are a lot of free docs and tools at claimspages.com for scene diagrams, but have not used them. Last time I drew an intersection diagram, the technology was at that pencil stage and we didn't know it was technology.
