Many visitors may know of our CADOgrams - Ready Made Roof Diagrams, well we have been working on a smart phone app that will identified hail damage on a comp roof, including built-up and modified roofing.  We will provide photos later this week, but in short the way it works is the adjuster will create a test square on the roof using a fluorescent chalk, pink seems to work the best and  then use the camera in the smart phone to take a picture of the test square.  The CADOScope app will take the image and circle or highlight the hail hits within the test square in the photo. It works by using the an infrared technology that can ID the changes in the composition material  in the areas of impact from a hail stone.

Sorry Linda it was a hoax, I had been doing some research on apps for claim handling and saw some technology that maybe in the future could be developed to handle such a task.

I think some of this is true. I have heard about some of this for about 5 years. It,s probably a cost factor and not many adjuster can pay for the tool. if any. It may be like a lie detector the person reading the "tool" has to highly trained and it can not be done on one afternoon session. I have not seen as many infra red water detectors as I did 5 years ago.
