We would like to use this thread as a clearing house for repair pricing in the Ike-affected areas. Early indications that common item pricing is remaining steady. Housing and remodeling were way down prior to the storm indicating no inital major increase in labor costs. Inland material suppliers are up and running and materials are in good supply indicating no jump in material pricing. All indications point to no shift in repair costs at this point. However, that could change.

As CADO adjusters begin to work with LICENSED AND INSURED TEXAS AND LOUISIANA CONTRACTORS, this would be a great place to display their pricing for commonly market driven pricing such as roofing drywall and paint (as well as any other items they run into that are not in line with the brand of software they are using). We ask that you don't mention the software (no bashing any specific product's data)or the names of the contractors. Just state the item, what your software database says and what you are seeing in contractor estimates. We we say "contractor estimates" we mean more than one but a general price difference among several contractors in the area.

We hope this will help all of the software vendors target their pricing research where it is needed the most and help both the insurance carriers and insureds arrive and settle Ike claims in a fair and equitable manner.
