This vendor (A2Z Soulutions) http://www.a2zsolutions.com/ was at the CADO convention we had a few years ago, they brought some of the their products and they appeared to have a good product. You may wish to check their site for more info.

I got mine from this website to use as a starter stand.  It's cheap and useful: Mobile Laptop Mount.

I've had my eyes set on a stand from this company for a while, just hadn't got around to getting one yet: Jotto Desk.

This is where I got mine. http://www.ram-mount.com/  What I like about is that you can match your mount to your vehicle.

www.jeniko.com I bought mine for 49.95. I added $3 in parts from Lowes and made it a "no holes" model. Very well built and versital.

I like Jotto Desk.  I bought first one years ago for a 2000 model F150.  Later I bought F250 and only had to buy new base plate.  Recently bought F350 and Jotto Desk installation was simply unbolt out of F250 and bolt into F350.

I purchased the RamMount no drilling model-I found it to be cheaper tha Jotto Desk or A2Z & it looked sturdier than Jeniko-The only thing is I had to modify it a little-I drive a Chevy Tahoe & the vertical pole was a bit too tall, so I cut off about 3 inches with a hack saw so it wouldn't obstruct my vision over the dash.I ordered the quick release mount, so I can take it inside at the end of the day & leave no evidence of a laptop in the vehicle to deter potential sticky fingers.Overall, all of the laptop mounts are expensive for what they are. I have seen a bunch of $49.99 ones & they don't look sturdy enough & worthy of holding my valuable tool. I wouldn't trust anything that holds a laptop with velcro.Just my two cents, but I did a bunch or research & thought before I bought it. Just remember no matter which one you get, make sure to tighten the seat bolts fully when you install the bracket to the floor.Don't want your passengers getting hurt.

I use a RAM mount. I've bought bases to move it from one vehicle to another. I used www.laptopgear.com, nice people with fast shipping. I have an 2002+ dodge no drill base if anyone needs one.

I'm a police officer at the moment. Jotto desk is the mount that most police departments use in their vehicles. I'd check on the universal mount. It's MUCH cheaper than the model specific mounts and should do the job.

This stand I use and know of many that use the same brand. Never have heard of any problems with them

I just installed my new RAM mount in the Suburban. It is very well constructed and its adjust-ability is outstanding. there are a few things that could be improved on, one being the retainer spring is lacking at its contact points. I would give it a 8.5 out of 10. They did not include assembly instructions. So if you are not mechanically inclined you may have some difficulty installing it. GPScity.com was the cheapest I could find it.

Love my JOTTO DESK when the laptop is securely mounted to it. Swivels and angles where I need it to. But it RATTLES like crazy when it is 'empty'. Guess the weight of the laptop keeps the noise down.

    Either way, worth every penny.

I have used the mobile laptop mount since 2003.  I paid $25 plus shipping for it on eBay.  It has seen a lot of duty in the last 4 years.  I modified it with some Home Depot pipe to adjust the angle for my comfort and I added an additional velcro strap.  The mount is extremely rigid and the laptop has never left the mount even under emergency braking.  I have had the opportunity to see some of the other more expensive mounts in person and they definitely look nicer, are more refined, and have a lot of bells and whistles.  However, if you don't have $300+ or just starting out,  I would consider the mobile laptop mount or something comparable you can find on eBay.

I have the Jeniko mount. (jeniko.com). Cost $49.99. Its not one of those made from plumbing parts, not that theres anything wrong with that. Its a quality mount made from machined parts from a company that manufactures mounts for ambulances and police vehicles. mine is the type you bolt to the floor, but I bolted it to my seat mounts and avoided the holes in the carpet. I really like having the full screen for the GPS.

I have a Jeniko like Jim Gary. I use a piece of black shipping foam  that I strap to the mount with two wraps of 2" velcro. I put two one inch velcro strips on the bottom of my laptop. The velcro holds it securely, yet allows quick removal. The foam rubber absorbs road shock. When I have to park my vehicle,  I remove the laptop and slip it under cushions that I keep over my seats. I remove the mount and extension arm and chunk it into the back seat. The knob and the support shaft looks lilke a floorshifter.
