HOUSTON -- Severe weather made its way into southeast Texas overnight Tuesday, dropping baseball-sized hail in Galveston County.

In Hitchcock and Santa Fe, hail pounded cars and windows, causing damage at a police station and a mobile home community. Residents told KHOU 11 News some neighbors went out in the rain to try and cover their damaged roofs.

No injuries were reported.

Several counties were under Severe Thunderstorm Warnings throughout the evening. At midnight nearly 50,000 CenterPoint customers were without electricity. By 8:15 a.m. that number was down to about 3,300, mostly inside the loop."
