Mark Hanna, spokesman for the Insurance Council of Texas, said the North Texas ice storm caused tens of millions of dollars in residential damage alone. “Claims are still coming in, but throwing out a number that is going to rise, we’re at about $30 million in insured residential losses,” Hanna said Thursday. “That’s carports falling down, trees on houses, broken water pipes.
