2003 Job Outlook is scary. That is according to Monster.com Reports. Employment Graphic predicts the job shortages top 20 favorable tradesmen/women that'll lose the most jobs. Adjusters or "Claims/Staff Personnell" came in #16. The charts showed 67% DECREASE IN ADJUSTERS. |

How can this be? Over staffed? Adjusters handling more claims per hour? I heard from one west coast IA today that some carriers have really cut back on farming out claims to IA's. |

I'm not sure what graphic you looked at, but the one I saw on that sight was actually a projection through 2010, not for just 2003, it still isn't very promising, but at least it is spread out over 8 years not all at once. |

Thats all doom and gloom which I don't subscribe to. Carriers will try to get the staff adjusters to do phone adjustments, they will hire adjusters at low rates all in the name of lowering costs and improving bottom line. Policy holders will determine the carriers futures based on service and IA'S (diligent ones) provide swift, exacting and friendly service. What we need to do is ensure we are providing better service to policy holders than staffers are, and from what I have seen if your are a professional and up to date in your industry you can put most staffers to shame. Strive to be professional and be the best you can be and you won't worry about Monster.com's projections. |

We need a big one to hit. Then all bets will be off. |

For me this is like digging in a pile of horse manure trying to find a pony. As long as I have started I'll just keep digging, besides, I still have my MOJO and a spare black cat. When all else fails I will do one of them Stomp dances my Grand Father taught me. Contrary to popular belief the Chickasaw Ugly tall people are not ex-stink, they still do and further more they can make things happen. Oh well theres always a market for fat dogs in the Everglades. Hey Oceola, where are you? If we are going down with the ship, we might as well be having a party and laughing. I aint gonna bail water and tears. |
