Several storms through Texas and into LA in the past two days. Hail and tornados in rural sp-sparsely populated SW Texas. Possibility of some hail in Houston and Dallas. Does anyone have any information on this? |

No hail reported here in Houston. Quite a bit of lighting. Typical Southeast Texas weather pattern. |

One can always tell by reading the CADO pages when adjusters 'need' a storm.
And believe me, from reading the posts on the Forum the past few days, ya'll need a storm!
Perhaps ConMan will even luck up and pick up a couple of new roof jobs and stop boring hell out of everyone. |

A word from above!! Let us bow our heads. Pray for a storm!! We all must have lost our minds!! Let it be written let it be done!! The truth never takes a holiday!

If I run in to Reconman, I hope he is better in person i.e. in explaining why the carrier should pay more than necessary (average price in area) to get the job done. If I have to forward his e-mails to the carrier, that will be the last claim I ever work. |

Come on Central Ohio, I need to reassign my casualty claims. Rather deal with roofers then attorneys. |

When I got into this business, I told my wife: Fear not, dear, Mother Nature will provide. She has been a little stingy lately, but I figure she is saving up for something really big. |

Some days it sure is hard to remember that there are over 10,000 storms in America every year.
And for us, all it takes is the right ONE. |

According to the Weather Channel we are way below average for severe weather this past week or so. The jet stream has been too far north and it has not been dipping down into Texas where it would collide with warm moist air from the gulf. It looks like a change in the jet stream should start by next week so hopefully things will pick up soon... |

It would appear that we are getting off to a slow start. ISO reports the following on first-quarter catastrophe losses.
- 1998 - 497,500 claims
- 1999 - 824,615 claims
- 2000 - 560,000 claims
- 2001 - 110,000 claims
- 2002 - 240,000 claims
- 2003 - 345,000 claims
- 2004 - ??
[edit] First-quarter reports from ISO normally come out around the middle of April. |

Follow the pattern, it appears the pendulum is swinging back our way. |

Golf ball size hail South of Uvalde, TX in the Corrizo Springs area. Pretty rural. Some TX (none big 3) have substancial exposure there.

The pattern may indicate an upward trend since the first-quarter of 2001 however, I not sure if we will meet or exceed the 345,000 claim mark for the first-quarter of 2004. During the 2003 first-quarter there were 5 events. I know we had at least 1 event on the east coast this year but I'm having trouble recalling any other events during the quarter. |

Below is a link to a article I found interesting that was published today on the Sun-Sentinel.com website.
In the article William Gray states, "The U.S. coastline can expect "hellacious" damage from major hurricanes in the near future.
"Based on the evidence I've seen, I think that's not just likely; I think it's going to happen," he said. "It's going to mean destruction like we've never seen before."
He is singing our song but what is the near future?
