14 people showed up for the 'Get-together'! We had a great time with lot's of good food, drink and discussions.
Alan had a good comment to me that this is something that needs to happen weekly on a major storm, starting the first week-end. Unfortunately, as shown by the fact that only 14 (and one of those was my wife who flew in from Houston on Saturday) out of over 25 who had originally promised to be there, bothered to show up, it seems that some adjusters are better at talking about committment instead of living up to it!
As for the organizational directions in the future, I for one, plan on researching and taking steps to establish the Texas Association of Professional Insurance Adjusters (TAPIA). I foresee other similar state associations developing and some day a national organization encompassing a confederation of the state groups. Will that part actually come to fruition? Maybe not in my professional lifetime, but some day!....and maybe we will look back on this date as the birthday of the hopes that were conceived by others a long time before me.
(Sorry I didn't get any pictures! I had my digital camera and totally forget about it till we were about to walk out the door! Take my word for it - the women were beautiful and the men were all handsome and trim!) |
