I paid for several of these when DFW had the Cinco de Mayo storm in 1995.
It is an Alcoa or look alike alumminum shake and it is expensive. I can not recall what I paid 8 years ago but you get the salvage deposit refund from the recycler if you total the roof.
Check with the manufacturer. Some of them have a weather warranty that pays for product to be hail resistant.

P.s. if you need it totalled, just have a few roofers do the inspection, it will certainly need a roof when they are done.
