Is a corral with 4 sides, not touching a structure (placed in ground 50 feet away from barn) considered structures or contents?

Not that kind of barn, no business. Barn used as house.

I think it is all in the "presentation". If we a/o the carrier hear about a barn with a corral, we get one impression, that leads to a coverage interpretation.

However, if the same folk hear about a dwelling and a fence, we get another impression, that leads to a coverage interpretation.

"Corral", defined in the dictionary as, "an enclosure for horses, or farm animals".

"Fence", defined in the dictionary as, "a barrier made of wood or wire, to surround an area".

So, if what you are working with is a dwelling by definition (whether it is a converted barn or a converted warehouse) that has a barrier constructed in the yard that surrounds an area - then I would see it and sell "it" (the fence) as an "other structure" on the residence premises.

My first manager in the insurance business clarified that question this way. "Will they take it with them if they sell the house and move? If you turn the property upside down, will it fall? if the answer is no to either one, it is structure.
If, however, you are talking about flood, there is no coverage and it is a moot question.
