Does anyone want to help me pay it? I'm desperate to "break into" adjusting. No offer is too outrageous. I have my resume posted and eagerly await the first of many opportunities to come rolling in.

I'm not sure how many people here are going to offer anything to a 12 y/o student, Drew. |

Tom, I know you need someone to work for you. Why not let me? Someone else is going to snatch me up if you don't!

I don't like this whole idea of "begging" for a job. I have no credentials and no experience. Why should you hire me? I think that instead of getting a job I'm just going to sit on my butt and collect the welfare that your taxes pay for. Then I will start to sell crack, to YOUR kids! Who has the upper hand now?

If you get bitter after just a month or two of not getting a shot, you may not have the mettle to make it. I know several people that tried for two years before getting a foot in the door. And if you just want to sit on your butt why would anyone want to take a chance on you? You aren't one of these people who think someone owes them a chance are you? (I'm already training one person, thank you.) |

Drew, This is very impressive. If things do not go your way you start threatening with violence!. I do not think I would want such a person as part of my cat team.
Things are not easy out here in adjuster land. You must be able to hear "no", smile, say "thank you" and keep going.
Maybe you should take a course or two in public relations & anger managment before you proceed in the "warm wonderful get rich quick" field of adjussting.

It is not that I have an anger management problem, you guys just have a "sarcasm detection" problem(I live for clever bantering). All of these other applicants are boring and semi-qualified. At least I have thoughtful quotes!
Oh, and Tommy from San A.;fire the guy you are training and train me. You know you don't like him, why else would you be cruising this forum?

Sarcasm, anger and "clever bantering" are three things that have no place in adjusting. |

Thanks for deciding to train me, Chuck! I didn't know you could train online but I'm sure by sending me one sentence posts you could really teach me the ins and outs of adjusting! I'm still training with Tom, but I'm glad that you have shown an interest in training me too! I only have one problem: your post sounded pretty condescending Chuck. Is that a good quality for adjusters? Also, don't you consider haggling with the policy holder to be a form of banter? That's important right? A shout out to Terra, waz up home girl.

Wow, good luck Tom!
"Haggling" in my dictionary, is defined as "arguing about a price or agreement".
I suggest "haggling", as well as the other three things that Chuck mentioned, has no place in adjusting.
If you are 'arguing' about a price or agreement, I suggest that you have already lost control of the process.
I suggest you add 'negotiation', discussion and settlement technique to your study list. |

Drew, Might I suggest that you read Caddodreams post under the thread for Joshua Bullard, who is also trying to "break in". Last I checked, the other adjusters don't owe you anything. Finish school & let one of the carriers spend their time/effort training you & changing your attitude. |

To Ccar: Negotiation is a nice term for haggling. This is an adjusters website so why candy coat? Canadian dictionaries are obviously of no use here in the good ole U.S. of A!
To Bryann: Thank you for your advice. I regret to inform you that I already have two online training sessions in progress. If you would like to personally train me and help me "lose the tude" I would, in turn, become your personal assistant.
