Has anyone else hits the new policy from Candlewood suites where they want to charge 5 cents a minute for any local or 1-800 numbers over 15 minutes. This is a company that has actively sought our business. Can we as a community influence them. I don't know about your clients, but getting mine of the phone in 15 minutes can be a challenge. Also, in this world of increasing internet use, ofr a hotel with slow line speed to limit your time is a real challenge. I will be calling their corporate office tomorrw, I will post the number here when i get it.
I have stayed at Candlewood's all over and never had this problem. This must be a new developement or it's a local issue. I agree that corporate should be made aware that this hurts their client and any profits will be offset by the empty rooms. I'll be sure and check with the motel when I check in.
You are correct about the charges. I am presently staying at Candlewood as we speak. This policy seems to be specifically directed at those who use the internet and stay dialed up for an extended period of time. If Candlewood is marketing to the business traveler how can they justify nickle and diming them?
