Thanks Jlombardo for coming to my defense and the offer of help. It's not that I can't use the program, it's just all of the jumping around you have to do. To scan in a document it takes about 18 key stroks and about 9 to do a photo. Like Tom I am used to using Integra Claim and have been using it since it's inception. The difference between the two programs is like day & night. Examate has no contents or commercial data base, to speak of, a terrible roof drawing application and is just not user friendly. If a mistake is made it is very cumbersom to correct and if you fail to check the APS button on the estimate you will find your self going back and going through each line item until you find your mistake. Where as with Integra Claim you select APS coverage and all items are then listed there. I guess my point is why a company, who has had success using a very good and stable program goes to one that has so many problems and gliches. As for me give me Integra Claim any day.

I had the fortune of attending an Xactimate focus group meeting in Orem, Utah and many of the problems being mentioned were discussed. I found them very eager to hear of the problems being had in the field and receptive to suggestions for making the system more user friendly. I understand that adjusters have their preferences, but those that choose and those that are forced to use Xactimate should relay all their problems to Xactimate. This can be done through their website/email. If they hear the same problem enough they will know that it needs attention and is not a user error.

If you feel you have lemons try making lemonade. Just a suggestion.

Oh, please, Darryl...you are describing a smoke job. I, too, have been to these pep rallys with the refreshments and cheerleading by the marketing departments staffed by the short skirts, but smoke up an anus is still just smoke.

Those folks in Orem know full well what the deal is and they too visit this puny little web site. They just lack the courage of John and Gale and the kids in Hawkins, Texas to post here. These folks have our respect and, increasingly, have us as customers and friends.

Lemonade from lemons? First you gotta have lemons, not horse apples. Just a little cooking lesson suggestion.

I have talked to a number of broke adjusters that have been "stuck" using the Crawford Version of xmate. Their concerns are not making an estimate in xmate, but one of getting all the other claim information into the system and uploading estimate, rcbs, photos, diagram, field scope notes, diagrams, and insured supplied docs to the xmate server. This being Southern La. I don't think there are many high speed lines in the bayou. There have been hundreds of hours in big boys time trying to fix the problems. The last I heard Crawford has trashed the paperless file and has had to resort to the old fashion paper files. "oh my".
I called xmate support paid 20.00 to find out that the SOL ( statement of loss) in xmate 2002 does not work.
For all of us that have had to use untested programs, we know what you have had to put up with. HANG IN THERE.

Personally, I love Xactimate. But that's because Xactimate was the first system I ever used and I've been using it for 5 years now and feel very comfortable with it. What I do NOT like about Xactimate is the fact that, it appears, they get their new versions field tested by adjusters in the middle of a CAT. Catmann is right. Finding a high speed connection in the bayou ain't a happenin' thing.

I am in the process of learning DDS. The kids in Hawkins have been more than helpful. I spent an hour on the phone with Shane Ellison who walked me through the basics of the program. For free. I can call Tech Support and get help. For free. That $20 charge just to speak with a warm body (on a long distance number, by the way) puts me in a pissy mood just thinking about it. Oh yes. The DDS Tech Support number is toll FREE.

I know I will continue to use Xactimate because so many carriers require it. But I have a feeling that DDS, once I become proficient, will be my choice of estimating software whenever I am GIVEN a choice.

Huhhh...here's a little friendly hint, folks.

I strongly suggest you pony up the $388.00 and go get the training in person there in beautiful downtown Hawkins, Texas. While the Integriclaim helplines are free, they ARE NOT intended to be a classroom. They ARE intended to be help for those that have already taken the training and need some quick advice.

Come a CAT, that is no time to have a new program and be calling for how instructions on how to spell 'cat'.

Well Ghost its better to light one candle than curse the darkness. FYI there were no skirts, short or otherwise and no marketing people at our meeting. From the meeting they then sent their technical people to storm cat sites to observe and work with adjusters while doing their job to see the practical use of their product and its shortcomings.

As for them posting here it would be beneficial if they did but they do monitor the site. I'm not new in this business nor am I new to being marketed and feel I'm in a better position to tell when there is smoke being blown then someone that wasn't present at the meeting. Yes, there is always a certain amount of rah, rah at these things but would you rather there be no input from the end users?

I am by no means trying to sell or defend Xactimate, but it is a system that has to be used by a good number of adjusters and as such any time we get a chance to add our input, we should.

Don't dump your old version of Integreclaim. As near as I can tell when you make the change from the Craftsman database to the Boeckh database you lose the ability to alter the data base and the ability to set up a specialty database.

I have the newest version of MS/B and I can't alter the database at all. Or so it appears. I'm pretty new at it, so it could be operator error. But so far it looks like Chuck is right.
