As I requested of Gale and now request of the rest of you, please keep your comments germane to this topic as posted at 1:40 PM today. If I am to scold him, then I must say something to others who took the conversation off on a tangent. You are welcome however to start another thread: The Women of State Farm, for such other frivolity as you may muster. And no, I am not losing my sense of humor. |

Hef, I don't think so. Thr State Farm females I've seen in the past 8 years only cause me to avert my gaze. Kinda like the Medusa thing. When they talk about harrassment at each of the new storm meetings, I wonder, "Who would want to?". They just don't make em as pretty as when I was in the hunt. |

Well Ghost since they tore down paradise perhaps you and Gale could get together and write the Great American novel on each of the topics. Gale can talk about his software and you can tell us about your HARDware. Think about it, a little sex might get things hoppin' on the Forum. What's next? A calendar of nude female State Farm adjusters? |

Wellll, Yeah, Gale is a bit intense seeing how his meal ticket is at stake. And, Gale is getting free advertising here. And, Gale is a southener. (I'm running out of excuses here.) But! I know of no other venue where we can hear, (read) discussions twixt software companies. I keep hoping those folks in Utah will open their mouths and issue forth with their company line. They just now signed on as CADO sponsers. Is Gale a bit strong? YES! Does he belong in his own sandbox to pontifcate here at CADO? I thought we just built him one. And now its gone... Did we just pave paradise to put up a parking lot? (I just love that line.) Oh and one more thing, Jim, about that stuff on sexual angles and proclivities. I don't know about you, but this former aspiring teen heart-throb could use a little 'pump priming'. And I don't mean the little blue pill either. Ha! Ha! |

Removal of the thread "Why I must push POWERCLAIM every chance I get - by Gale Hawkins" this afernoon by the Forum Moderator may or may not have been the right thing to do. Like Roy, I see both sides of this issue. I take no strong offense at Roy's wisdom. Roy took it out. I probably would have left it in as an active thread. As Gentlemen, we have the right, and indeed at times, the obligation to disagree. I do sympathize and agree however with those who feel that Gale Hawkins uses the various topic posts to continue to hard sell his product, to the point of turning off many of our readers. I agree with those who get tired of seeing every single topic become another avenue for him to weave the topic around to another PowerClaim advertisement with the latest Special Offer Du Jour presented. We might as well have some sex addict posting here with their attempt to tie each topic to some sexual angle or sexual proclivity; there really would be little difference. It seems to me as a matter of courtesy to CADO posters and readers that we should attempt to keep each thread and topic germane to that particular topic. New posts should focus on the development of a particular idea or in sharing an experience or information which builds on or disagrees with that previously posted under that topic thread. I get a lot of email from readers who feel that Gale overdoes it with "selling" on this Forum, and I for one, agree wholeheartedly. A good product sells itself best through word of mouth advertising, and if Gale's product deserves the acclaim of others, then we will no doubt soon read the comments of those using his product. Gale, I would personally and respectfully request that when you have something to say that adds value to a particular discussion or enlightens our readers in dealing with adjusting topics that you do so. When you feel the need to talk about your product, please go over to the new page that Roy has set up and post your message there. There are some very serious discussions found here which we all appreciate, and that many can learn from in the exchange of ideas and information. Let us resolve to try and do our best to separate editorial content and factual messages as well as adjuster experiences from crass commercialism. We all will win if we can do that. I am posting this as an individual and not as a member of the CADO staff. These represent my personal opinions and not necessarily those of CADO. |
