Hey CADO surfers! It has been a long time since I posted on this forum but had a few mintues and thought I would pass on some information on IntegriClaim that I have found helpful to adjusters who use our software.
MSB has conducted a great deal of IntegriClaim Advanced classes and we have typically found that many adjusters who use the software might not be using it to its fullest potential. I believe that any estimating software can be fast once the adjuster learns the 'short-cuts' that are within the software.
I recently conducted two days of advanced training (two - one day classes) with a Florida client of MSB's and at the end of each session the adjusters all said how what I had showed them would save them anywhere from one to two hours a day in estimate writing!! Wow! That adds up.
To this end I have put together a Word document that I have entitled "IntegriClaim Estimating Tips & Tricks" that I have begun to give my clients. It outlines what I have found to be some of the most important short-cuts within IntegriClaim that help adjusters be fast. Since I cannot post it on CADO (at least I don't think I can) I will try to put them into posts one at a time. IntegriClaim Tip: “Customize” vs. “Write-In”
When writing estimates it is common to run into scope items that may not be within the database the adjuster is using. It is a reality of writing estimates as no database is totally comprehensive. When adjusters run into this problem they tend to automatically click on the “Write In” button and begin writing in the item. The “Customize” is an underutilized feature which can save the adjuster a tremendous amount of time when they run into this issue of having to write-in an item. The decision of when to use the “Write-In” or “Customize” button can be made easily by asking the question “Does this line item I wish to change have a close match within the existing database?” An example would be if you needed to replace a special six-blade ceiling fan and you could not find that six blade fan within the database. In a case like this the only elements of the ceiling fan that resides in the database that would need to be modified are the description (six blade) and the price. In this situation, the adjuster need only choose the ceiling fan that existed within the database, choose the appropriate operation and then click on the “Customize” option. The line item will be laid out in full edit format and the adjuster only has to tab first over to the description and change it to reflect the six-blade fan and then tab to the price and change it to the appropriate amount. At this point the adjuster clicks “Add”. The other defaults such as trade group, O&P, R&D, etc. all will remain the same and will not have to be modified by the adjuster.

IntegriClaim Tip: Creating Calendar Schedules
Calendar Schedules are essentially macros of contact activities for a claim. An example of this are work rules set up by a specific insurance carrier requiring an insured to be contacted within 24 hours of the adjuster receiving the claim, the loss being inspected within 72 hours of the adjuster receiving the claim, etc. These calendar schedules will use a trigger date that automatically assign planned dates to these activity types. All the adjuster has to do is open up the individual activities and record the notes and the actual date and time. This saves the adjuster having to create each activity for each individual claim and serves as a reminder of activities that are due. These Calendar Schedules also flow the activities into the “Hot List” within the IntegriClaim Diary for the adjuster to track activities for all claims at one time. It is a powerful feature which will save you clicks and help you remember important activities for your claims.

IntegriClaim tip: Diagram Tricks and Tips
The diagramming utility within IntegriClaim has some excellent time saving features that can help even the new user create more accurate and easy to understand diagrams. Here are some of those tips:
1. Moving Objects:
If you wish to move an object within the diagram but do not want to hold down on it and drag it with the mouse you can simply highlight it and, while holding down on the “Control” key on your keyboard, click on the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the item.
2. Moving More Than One Object:
Groups or collections of objects can also be moved using the control button and the arrow keys. All the adjuster must do is hold down on the “Shift” button and then click on all the objects they wish to move. Then, after doing so and releasing the “Shift” key they can hold down on the “Control” key and once again use the arrow keys to move the grouping of objects around the screen. This is helpful in moving an groups of lines and squares, etc. that make up one object such as an offset.
3. Using the Diagram Library:
Many adjusters do not realize they can choose a diagram from the standard diagram library that comes with every IntegriClaim that is similar to their desired diagram and then make the necessary modifications to it. This is a great time saver. Also, after the new diagram has been created it should be saved into the correct category with in the diagram library to possibly use again in the future.
