Most of us have worked for venders who were slow to no pay, or had the cheapest schedules or other problems. What if we select the worst and refuse as a group to work for them? It might take two seasons, but these national companies might get the message.

I am tired of calling branch managers weeks after a storm trying to clear my checks, or getting closed files credited.... they want me on scene the day after they call, but it takes weeks to get paid.

I remember in 1979 Strom adjusters grossed over $200,000.00 per year, it would be hard to get there today.

Who would be a good candidate to boycott? A season without adjusters.

At this point, we need the results of Clayton Carr's arduous study.

However, he appears to be either MIA or has chosen to depart from our ranks, and sorely missed.

The concept is sound, but without some agreement in place, by everyone, it fails to hold water.

A written agrement is not necessary. We simply agree that we do not work for a vendor. The vendor will use first year folks, contractors and there will be adjusters who will not get the word. It will be harder for that vendor to screw the crew and replace them.

I do not know a single farm boy who cannot roof, and half of the people in Texas have licenses. But bit by bit they will choke.

Who do we nominate? A big one or a little one?

An Agreement needs not be written, but a commitment MUST be made for those that are willing to stand up and vote with their feet, as one poster recently commented.

How can we know whom has honored their word, if we do not know who is committed?

This avenue again begs for some kind of loosely knit co-op or another method of adhesion.

We could take a poll here on CADO; have those that vote in the affirmative, register with the site, anonymously and then see who broke their word, as an example.
