I was curious as to how many of you had the opportunity to work claims of any nature out of the US? Have any of you had the chance to work in the Caribbean after any of the annual storms?

I had the opportunity to work in St. Croix USVI after Hurricane Maryland. Worked there for 1 month and it was the best Cat I ever worked. Not only a good money maker but great weather and met some great people.
I have also worked in Canada a couple of times. Once in Calgary, after a year old hail storm. It hit in October and snowed two weeks later so all the claims had to wait until the Spring thaw. I also worked the terrible ice storms in Quebec Province. Worked in the areas surrounding Montreal. Was the comlete opposite of St. Croix.

The "Great Ice Storm of '98 in Canada was a real learning experience.

Would do it again at the drop of a hat.

Had chances at "Iniki" in Hawaii but was kinna tied up with "Andrew"

Also had opportunities for "PAKA" in Guam and the last one there, but don’t like leaving the country for that long.

Plenty of work here, BUT if’ in a Biggie hits the Caribbean, Im there with all the toys I can carry.

If working Puerto Rico, you will need to be fluent in Spanish, or have Ins Co furnish interpreter and hotel expenses (very high rent). Not many street signs, maps are scarce.
Lots of poison snakes in Guam.
