- bunji cord for tying ladder off at gutters
- Cougar paws
- rope and harness
- chalk and grease pencil
- pitch gauge
- shingle guage
- 100 ' measuring tape w/ tennis ball attached to end
- 25' FATBOY steel measuring tape
- handheld sonar or laser measuring device for interior rooms
- digital camera / preferably small and lightweight
- clipboard w/ calculator and Acculine drawing grid
- erasable Paper-Mate pens
- micro-cassette recorder and tapes for recorded statements
- photo processing software
- GPS / mapping software
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- carpet knife
- putty knife
- silicone sealant
- magnet
- 2nd printer for vehicle
- 2-way voice activated radios (for team use)
- Power supply should be able to run laptop, printer and multiple battery chargers (two way's, cell phone, rechargeable batteries for camera)
- filing systems (one for car and one for office)
- comfortable complete tool belt (ez off, ez on)
- sunscreen
- bug spray
- mace or pepper spray for dogs (and some roofers)
- first aid kit (for when the pepper spray doesn't work)

Todd, you been looking in my truck?
Other things you did not see:
Protomiter, a moisture detector, intrusive and non intrusive with 4' extension, And EIFS probes.
Laser thermometer.
CO2 Detector.
Disposable camera, when all else fails.
12 V Camera battery charger.
HEPA mask & Filters
Rubber boots for messy losses, like fire or flood.
Spray bottle of water to find dents in metal.
Bottle of Bleach Mixture, to wash boots.
Snacks.
Loud compressed air siren, to notify someone when the ladder falls.
Digital Voltmeter. AC/DC, for electrical issues, loss or vehicle.
Butane torch, (small), to identify shingle composition.
Adjuster Vest to carry all of this, now weighs 50#, almost a full field pack.
Darn, im tired of carrying all this stuff.....................

| I,ve seen Dave's truck. I would disagree with Lisa on licensing. A few years ago I was going to get all the license's in each state that I worked in. It can be very expensive and you may not even work in the state that year. I have a Florida and a Texas non-resident. I found that was the best way to go. Both are two year and not that expensive. Most Vendors will help on licensing issue's and you can always get a temp. license. I also carry at least two throw away cameras, one 35mm w/10 rolls of film, and both Mavica's. To check to temperature of an AC or Heat register outlet, to see if the unit is functioning correctly. Also you can use it to see if the roof insulation is intact after a hail storm, on the underside of a flat roof.
Temperature differences will indicate wet insulation, among other things. |
