It is getting very hard to post a thought about any of these topic's when the "poster" has the means to "LOCK" the post.

I thought I could "Lock" this post. Shows what I know.

So how do I post then lock it up?

You can't. You can request it be locked but why would you? If you have a one post topic (your own), why would you want to post it to a forum? If it is that important and doesn't leave itself open to comments or discussion then perhaps it should be on the bulletin board as an announcement.

You can delete a forum topic if no replies have been made. After replies have been made, then only the administrator or moderators can delete it.

Catmannn: My guess is that you thought Recon Man locked his own posts. I think the moderators did that because they could see that every adjuster who frequents this site was about to slam Recon Man for the idiotic crap he continually posts. He says he doesn't chase storms; no, of course not, he's too busy chasing individual home fires.

You guys,(that's yankee speak for ya'all)just never quite get it. Two threads were locked today because they have nothing to do with every day claims handling. On that basis this thread should be locked. As should many other threads. Houtz, my friend,I hereby request this thread be locked for you.

Somehow after threads are locked, the lockor can edit their posts, but the lockees cannot. If you (admin. folks) are going to preserve everyone's posts for eternity by locking a thread, then you should not edit your own posts therein.

The purpose of locking a thread is not to preserve the discussion for eterntiy but rather to stop a discussion that has become unproductive, or possibly unwelcome to this community.

Should a topic come up in the "Claim Handling" forum that was germaine to the business of claim handling in some way or seemed to address a need of the CADO community previously unmet (like the need to understand why certain forums get locked), then I(and the other moderators) will, and have, let it stand.

If anyone would like further clarification on that please feel free to contact any of us, or Roy. We would all be pleased, despite our lack of pay and our ocassional lack of appreciation, to help you understand this community further. We do this because we believe that cat adjusters should have a place to go to ask questions in a safe, non-threatening environment.
