Earthquake struck middle coast of California at approximately 11:15 PST. Epicenter at San Simeon. 6.5 Richter scale. Phones out in San Simeon. Highway 101 Corridor may be affected from Santa Barbara through San Luis Obispo. 6.5 is considered a strong quake. |

The area hit is fairly sparsely populated and not likely to be much damage given the EQ building codes and lack of building density. Beautiful country up there though. |

It would be interesting to see how many people in CA had EQ coverage yesterday verses how many will have it within 30 days. |

No the mortgage companies do not require EQ insurance. It is not like flood zones or flood insurance. |

Only about 20% of homeowners carry EQ in CA. The CEA policy sucks, probably as bad as NFIP. |
