It seems to me that a lot of what we talk about on this site boils down to "I". I want this, I need this, I want something to change, I don't agree, I I I.
Let me suggest that we, as readers of the CADO, put forth on this site someone, charity, church, or something that we can give back to. CADO some how could select, vote, or nomoniate a good cause that we as a group could help.

I agree with Houtz. We could select a charity and each give a certain amount to that charity. Children are the life blood and the love for all of us. Janice and I have five daughters, one son, 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. If something were to happen to one of them, we would be devistated. I have always been a supporter of the Childrens Hospital in Little Rock, AR., as it is an outstanding facility assisiting youngsters for all types of illnesses. If the families have no money, the care is free. They have been on national T.V and have a staff that is unselfish and relentlessly agressive when it come to saving a childs life.
Very good idea Houtz.

How about the 'Human Fund'?

Just make your checks payable to Ghostbuster and send them here to the opulently palatial penthouse suites here at the Ministry of Propaganda on the grand estate of CADO-land.

You can rest assured that my efforts to aid the human purveyors of the retail liqour, bar-b-que, and hostess entertainment industries in a most gracious manner will bring forth tears of joy in appreciation.

Yes, the Human Fund, a cause we can all stand behind...

Guys, Catmannn is serious, so only serious comments please.

Houtz, let me know what you need and I will try to set it up. We already have ways of collecting the funds in place (Paypal Donnations). I have always wanted to do something for storm victims that did not have insurance.

Dave's idea is an excellent one, and he is absolutely right on the "I" subject, proven by two of the posts following his! I also agree with Roy's idea to set up a fund for storm victims who don't have insurance. I believe a lot of adjusters will donate to this cause. I know one adjuster who did just that, on his own, after "Andrew". I would though, if a fund is set up for that purpose, like to see it distributed by CADO and not some organization that is going to take a large percentage of it for themselves.

One thousand adjusters donating $100. per year would not impact the uninsured losses. BUT THIS MAY. Let our group sponser experienced adjusters donating one or more days per year to THIER states Insurance Department Complaint Division. The written complaints that are worthy would then be passed on to another group to further investigate- follow up and make recommendations to the complaint board for action.

Remember that we have contributed on a one on one basis to members family when the member was killed on the job.

I would be in favor of starting a general fund for our community to use for emergencies etc.. I'll throw in the first $100.

it is the time of the year to think of others, I challenge every cat adjuster on the road to take time on the 25th or the 1st to help out at a homeless shelter (ps they also feed you).

Here it is Christmas time again! Doesn't seem like it has been a year already. Some of you may remember my Christmas story from last year, which by the way, was not fiction and I had one of my best Christmases yet!

Roy, could you please post the Paypal account for CADO here on this thread so that we might begin creating a fund? Yes, I know it can be found in other areas but let's put it here so it's handy.

We all moan and groan at times about no work, low pay, high expenses, etc., but at the end of the day we still are some of the most fortunate people on earth--just look at the world of friends we have here. I agree with Roy about wanting to help those who do not coverage and some just can't pay for enough coverage. There are organizations that will also help if they know there is a need. We are the eyes of the damages and perhaps we should be doing more than we are even if it is just picking up the phone and making a call. It never feels good to tell someone their roof is just worn out and see the look on their faces knowing they can't afford a new one. I have called Habitat for Humanity a couple of times and gotten assistance for the homeowner but they don't always have the materials just lots of volunteers.

Yes, we have helped the families of those who have been injured but in our hearts we know we can all do just a little bit more.

Thanks for letting me put my 2 cents in.

Hi Linda,

Here is the link.

Click to make a donation using PayPal

The above requires a PayPal account.

I will add a link below later today that will allow you to use CADO Credit Card system.
I will also donate all credit card processing fees connected to any donations.

Once the fund is going we will need to decide what to do with the funds.

12/28/03 Update, follow this link to the CADO Adjusters Fund page, http://www.catadjuster.org/fund.asp
