Hello Everyone. I hope everybody is as busy as heck from Isabel. Got a couple of questions to ask the experts here. I'm an ex-staff claims adjuster that has previous experience handling property claims for Hurricane Andrew, Hurricane Iniki and numerous other smaller hail and windstorms around the Country. I quit inorder to play competitive golf but unfortunately I had problems with the flat stick. Since I've been out of the business for a few years, could someone tell me which is the most inexpensive and easiest way to get the Texas and Florida Adjusting licenses. From what I remember, those were the 2 licenses to get. Am I able to obtain those licenses if I am not a resident of the State? How do I go about to get certified with the major companies like State Farm, Farmers, Allstate, USAA etc.? Thanks for the help.

If you are a non-resident of Texas, you can get the Texas license if your state has reciprocity with Texas and you are licensed in your home state. If not, you can be waived for the Texas licensing exam if you hold the CPCU or AIC designations. I am not up to date on the Florida licensing requirements but they used to be much tougher.

Florida also has a reciprocal agreement with many states. If you have a valid license in one, Florida will issue, without exam, a non resident license. Florida does require though, fingerprints, a criminal check and a letter from your currently licensed state indicating that you are in good standing

Does anyone have any information on the Non-resident Florida Adjusters License, or is there anything like that? What is the most inexpensive and easiest way to get it? If someone were to only have 2 State Adjusting Licenses, what would they be and please explain why. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
