Catdaddy
no offense what so ever everyone has to decide on what side of the fence they want to be and I for one have often wondered if I made a mistake in going with independent Cat work at times likes this.

Boy tired of posting and reading however it does pass the day away.

MAN I DIDN"T KNOW I NEEDED A JOB SO BAD.

Just my thoughts.

I have never worked as a staff adjuster but often wondered. Feel good and bad points on both staff and Cat or even independent.

Staff
1. Job
2. Salary
3. Medical
4. Retirement
5. 401 k
6. Expenses during storm duty
7. Light work load
8. Very little night work

Cat Adjuster

FREEDOM

Just my thoughts and could be wrong

RR,

Different people want different things. Its not wrong if you got what you were looking for.

One question though and Im not trying to offend. Who gave you the impression staffers get a light work load and dont work in the room at night? I want to move where they live. All that is part of everyday cat duty where I come from.

Craig, Lannie said in his past he liked to crash planes, tip cows, and as I - enjoy eating a good tartar.

Please heed the call to lay down our 'arms' and let the fire extinguish itself.

The sun has come out again, lets all start getting value out of this site again.

I hope there is a good daily does of 'Jeanette's', that will make us concentrate on our craft.

CatDaddy the life on the road is not for everyone, thank heavens or we would be armpit deep in wannabes. There are two distinct groups of cat adjusters, those who were contractors or entered adjusting on a cat, many of these are weak on procedure and policy knowledge. A few become real adjusters. There is a numbers of us (average profile, over 45 male white with a hard earned belly that proceeds us and over 20 years adjusting, often both company or independant.) There is a subgoup of Texan who can be idenified by belt buckles as wide as there waist. The are good and bad in the cat ranks and in the company ranks. Justin you must have been looking in a mirror when you commented about Jim F., you are so repetious that you are becoming boring. An eyectomy is an operation that cut the tube that connects the large intestine and the eyes, and cures a certain type of outlook. I am where I want to be and wouldn't go back to the company ranks even for double the money, but that's me.

Craig - Actually, since my post to you yesterday, I have received information concerning your performance as an adjuster. I am proud to report my sources gave you a double two thumbs up. You're free to go. And I was wondering if you'd pick up that I changed the slogan alittle. We actually say it way I said it. See, my sources were right. You dont miss a trick. Sorry if I lumped you in with the wrong group. It wont happen again. For the record, and I havent told anyone this yet, I am good too.

Older - I agree. The road is not for everyone. About 5 years ago, we were trying to pump up our numbers and we hired a few people too quickly. The ones that we didnt wead out ourselves, the road did.

My wife is ready for me to come home. Pretty soon she is going to realize my cell phone is not broken and that I really heard her. Once you've done this a while, its hard to get up for anything else. The only desk job I can do is at the one is the back of my van.

Whew, it was a long day in the saddle!

I see y'all used up all the napalm in the flamethrower. Good job, guys. All I see is charcoal and fuzz back there. Trouble is, that State Farm, 'We're number one and you better know it', attitude is still there.

Catdaddy, I'm not sure you realize how you're coming across in your posts. We don't have a problem with brashness, or some light swaggering, or even a dose of excess testosterone. It's the 'holier than thou' and 'my way or the highway' inflexible attitude in the posts that is stereotypical of the corporate mentality. We tolerate it when on the road, but this ain't the road.

Your arrival here is indeed welcome. Your contributions provide a fresh insight. Just remember the adage, 'When you make fun of yourself, others laugh with you and not at you'.

I'll take the flamethrower out to the garage now and reload for next time.

Justin,

While you and I agree on a great deal of political issues, I must take issue with your characterization of JimF. Jim and i have had our differences in the past but I have a great deal of respect for him as a person and an adujuster. We may differ philosphically when it comes to politics, but when I was called to work in his home state right around Christmas he was kind enough to call me in my hotel room and wish me well. We were supposed to get together for a beer but I had to work night and day to get out of there so that I could be with my family for Christmas as I had promised and time just did not allow it. If I ever get to his neck of the woods or he ever comes to mine I hope that we can get that much belated adult beverage. I know Jim is a big boy and doesn't need me to defend him, but I feel that I must at the very least point out that, his liberalism asside, and I smile when I say that, Jim is a good guy.

(picture a waving white flag of peace and me taking a golfball-sized Prozac with a vodka chaser)

Ghost - Are you sure you are reading one of my post? I certainly dont want to come off that way and I have never said that my way is the only way of doing things.

Now sometimes in the course of swapping literary jabs with some of the partrons of this site I may say things that your could interpret in that way but that's not really me and I certainly dont believe all the things I say. When the feathers start getting real hot, I say the first thing that comes to mind. I know JimF and CCarr dont have wooden teeth and I know you dont really molest small dogs. Wait! I had not said that one yet. Must be the vodka talking. Anyway, "thems just jokes".(I stole that from Eddie Murphy) Like you tried to say in your native Bermuda Triangle vocabulary, there's nothing wrong with a little swaggering testosterone. So why you are snugglin tonight with your cousin and dreaming of Fido, take time to remember you got a friend in me.

I love you man,

CD

Kile,
Sorry, I have an overload of files, thus the delay in answering your post. I want to assure you that I DID NOT try [and sorry if I did] attempt to defame Jim in my previous post. I only attempted to point out a difference in philosophy. I also think Jim is a great individual and adjuster. I only attempted to disagree with him. Jim if you are listening I love and respect you.

As far as my definition of a liberal is concerned this is something I will never change. I firmly believe the liberal mantra is evil.

Olderthandirt,
I can't help it. I keep getting these EIB voices in my tooth that make me say these things. Must be one of those [mind-numbed-robots] that Rush so frequently alludes to. Try listening to him it might help you drag your mind into the 20th century.
