The front moving through Arkansas toward Tupelo Mississippi looks like it could produce some violent weather. Our temp is going to get near 80 tomorrow and it seems to be getting the right conditions for tornados and cyclones. The probability is there and it could hit Tenn,Ala and Miss. A lot will depend on the shifting wind currents as to the time, looks like Monday. The normal path is Tupelo ,N Bham, and a path up I-59. The more northern path is Thru Nashville to the ENE. The wind has gotten up here from the south. I am located in East Central Alabama. Just another weather guess....Don't run for the cellar yet.

The two jet streams and our wild fronts, unstable air masses, are going to make for some interesting developements, thats a maybe.
I guess the mud slides will become a problem for those who build on the bluffs of California. I can't think of a worse place to build unless it would be on the west side of a fault line in California.Seems thats where most of the population has squatted.

We have wide spread damage and injuries, its early to tell how much. They had 46 people in one county medical center and more inroute. This storm hit about twelve hours earlier than I anticipated. The main strike was just East of Tupelo,Ms. in Alabama. I have no idea how many states are involved. I dont think Lilli caused this much damage. We are lucky, living on the east side of Mt Cheha SE of Talladega. The temp. got up to 82 degrees yesterday and the cold front approaching from the NW was a sure sign of a disaster.

Alan,

I just checked out of New Iberia, LA on Sunday. I started in Slidell (north of New Orleans for those unfamiliar) and after three weeks transfered over to New Iberia. I haven't heard of anyone working the recent storms. I don't even know which, if any, IA firms got the job.

Kile and Alan J. Janice and I are in Lafayette and open to suggestions for dinner. We will be here another month or so. We have a number of large losses that will require time to conclude. Any other CADO folks in this area, why not get together. My cell # is 501-259-2625. We are staying at the Comfort Suites off 10 and 49. Send us an e-mail or call and we will discuss a get together.

This latest round of storms produced a lot of damage, someone must have been called. Eberl's has or is going to get work in Ohio or Tn. It is quiet, and there must be a scramble that we don't know about. I think the carriers have a multitude of staff adjusters now and no doubt it will take a lot of damage before any IAs get a call.
I don't remember of any fronts and two jet streams coming together like the one Sunday night, and it could have been a lot worse.
AJ you need to be at Carbon Hill, they almost got wiped out. I may go up while I am B'ham and see what happened. I got to be up there the 26th to get my SF certs. and may take a tour through the tornado triangle. Ya'll be safe and put that feed bag on, get your knife and fork certification before you leave.
I built a building in New Iberia for the construction of off-shore rigs over a canal, sort of drydock. Had rails to bring those rigs in and out of the water. Also built some bldgs at Laffey-ette and Houma ...I had more stuff stolen there than any place I have ever been, including North Africa.

Joe Lombardo, Been there done that, almost, I owned a house which was once in Homestead for about three years. I also had a business downtown on Krome Ave (Action Electronics) and that is gone also.
I loved the fishing especially the specks and snook. Got pretty good at it thanks to some of the oldtimers down there that made it fun. I found out quick, those guys knew how to think like a fish. So now, first thing I do in a strange place is fish like the natives and work in my own tricks later. Around those barrier islands is some of the best fishing in the world, but I wouldn't care to have real estate there.
