I have also gone to local suppliers with samples, and have obtained their evaluations. That coupled with the fact that they will meet with the insured, explain and provide samples along with an on the spot estimate for the work will help in many instances. |

I have use Itel from time to time, mostly with carpet that I felt would exceed $50.00 per yard if no other supporting documentation was available. Their address is: 8933 Western Way, Suite 20 Jacksonville, Fl 32256 Phone: (904)363-0196 Fax (904) 363-2379 They have an email address of itelinfo@itelinc.com however, there is no web site at www.itelinc.com so I'm not sure if the email address is still good. |

I have used ITEL extensively to determine prices for carpeting, in many cases this was required by the carrier, and was wondering if anyone else had used their service and what they thought. I have found their services to be a valuable tool in settling carpet value disputes. I even shot down a reputable high end carpet store with one of ITEL's lab reports which confirmed that the carpet in question was NOT wool! For anyone unfamilar with their services, you send ITEL a 10"x10" sample of the PH's carpet, pad or vinyl and they will send you a detailed and very scientific breakdown of exactly what the carpet is and how much it should cost to replace in your area. The cost inluding next day UPS shipping of your sample is $49.25 Is hard to argue with a scientist!!! |
