RE: CRAWFORD HYDE AND ASSOCIATES
I'm not normally a poster but do read CADO and find it a valuable resource. It is critical that the good, bad and the ugly be posted to alert others to potential danger (or good things too). It obviously should be done in a fair and unbiased manner to the best of the individual's knowledge and ability.

Now to the point. I 've just come off an assignment with Crawford Hyde and would work with them again without reservation. The two principals and support staff are hardworking and totally upfront on all issues. They also go the extra mile to ensure service to the insurer and the adjuster.

On arrival, a complete package was provided (other vendors, please note this point)and local insurance issues were reviewed in a comprehensive but brief meeting. If any problems, contact numbers were provided and they were available as necessary (this last feature was used judiciously since they had a major work load also).

As for payment, they well understand the conditions under which the cat adjuster operates and responded in ways that I will not detail here. I was treated per the Golden Rule: 'do unto others...' Suffice it to say, that prompt payment was a mutual concern and they kept their part of the bargain, customizing the method to my needs as an added bonus.

Like Tim's post, I share his final comments. You don't make your own candle brighter by dimming that of others. That applies to vendors and insurers equally. I try and analize both prior to accepting an assignment and if I'm uneasy and I'm unable to resolve it through contacts, I simply will not take the assignment. To date, I know of only one insurer and one vendor that I will not work with under any circumstances - the particular insurer has an unenviable reputation and the vendor operates in a frame work that is unaccepatable to me personally.

IN CONCLUSION, I CAN ONLY CONFIRM MY EXPERIENCE AND GIVE CRAWFORD HYDE TOP MARKS ON ALL MATERIAL FRONTS. LOYALTY, HONESTY AND COMMITMENT TO THE ADJUSTER AND THE INSURER. In my opinion, it really doesn't get better than that given other road experiences and no - this is not a paid commercial nor are Crawford Hyde aware of this post at this writing.

The best to all in the months ahead.

I am responding to the previous posting concerning CRAWFORD,HYDE AND ASSOCIATES. I have been on assignment with this company in Dallas since 06/16/00 and have been paid in a very timely manner since the first week I arrived and started closing files. The owners of the Company are very involved in the day to day operations and have been very helpful in every aspect of the operation. They are very quick with praise for a good job and have been "reachable" at any time.

I am not sure what problems Darrell may have with this company (since he was not sure who he was working for) but CRAWFORD,HYDE AND ASSOCIATES is a first class operation and an assignment I have (for selfish reasons) kept somewhat a secret.

Abe Lincoln said "We cannot make ourselves look good by making someone else look bad." This is a philosphy I try to cling to and recommend it to all who need it.

The secret is out, CRAWFORD,HYDE AND ASSOCIATES is a top notch bunch to work "with".

Just Two questions. Is Nationwide the only carrier Crawford contracts with or are there multiple carrier contracts? Did those with positive responses work Nationwide claims?

I too must speak up. Have just returned from assignment with Crawford Hyde (notice I do know whom I was working for, usually a good idea) and this was a better assignment then I had expected. The pay is following in a prompt and acceptable maner. Thanks Brad, Whit, and Lynn
I look forward to the next time.

Although I promised myself that I would refrain from posting I have to respond.I did some work for Crawford and Hyde in Dallas. I had to leave the assignment early for persoal reasons but received my earnings in a time frame consistant with other vendors. Given the opportunity I would work with or recommend this firm in the future

I was not paid recently on an assignment by Crawford & Hughes or Crawford & Hyde while working for Nationwide Insurance in Richardson, Texas. I was promised payment within 5 days of first week of employment. I spent my funds for travel, lodging, phone calls, etc. and signed an independent contractor agreement one week into assignment. Crawford & Hughes and/or Crawford & Hyde have not paid me and have blamed Nationwide for check problems. I have tried many methods to contact the Supervisors with Nationwide and the President of Nationwide regarding this situation. In addition, while working inside the catastrophe room in Richardson, Texas, the temp handling phone call and giving incorrect information to insureds and the person handling replacement cost benefits and agreed upon settlements was unlicensed. There may have been a problem even with the person in charge being licensed since he had been retired 2 to 3 years and had been reactivated, but I am not saying I have positive proof in his case. The Supervisor on the storm was aware of the facts to my knowledge and regular claims supervisor was also aware to the best of my knowledge. I have called and left messages for a return call from everyone involved in this situation. No one will respond. I believe everyone should post problems like this if it true and can be proved!
