Heard about the after market parts thing, went through that a while ago, and the cheapest aftermarket parts were garbage but cheap. If the companies would listen to theg runts they could advoid things like this. Our property estimating supposidly is based on fair market not for the cheapest crap out there , we should be safe unless the grand poohbahs of the biz find a way to use cheaper products. If you pay the fair amount on a claim most insured are happy, but think of all the free lunchs and sports tickets that the lawyers wouldn't have to hand out.

I don't really have any thoughts about the judgement lodged against the State Farm auto company. However, it does illustrate the fact that class action is a fact of life and as long as attorney's make a fortune beating insurance companies in court the class action will continue to be a fact of life. As will the necessary precautions that will be taken by insurance companies to protect themselves. My answer to your question yes, not that it will initate a change but that it will accelerate the change already stared. Take care out there, its a slippery slope.

Within the past week there has been a major development concerning the class action law suit vs STATE FARM. After viewing the results and having kept up with the trial as it proceeded I wonder what fall out will slide over to the property side of loss's?

I also question what,if any potential problems we as independent adjusters will encounter? Virtually all insurance companies have some sort of price guidelines they would "like" for independent to use. Will that change or will we be more apt to use the price structure supplied by software suppiers?

The potential for change exists every day. Will this landmark decission change how we go about our daily work? Your thought are appreciate!
