SBIHM, I am putting together an answer to your question for the next Meditations column which hopefully will be available within the next few days. There are many aspects to your question and both the research and length for a proper answer need more time and space. Sorry it is taking so long. In the meantime, perhaps others would be able to share their thoughts and experience. |

Hi Jim: Thank's for the quick response! I am interested in working big commercial claims-or getting into re-insurance...i am currently a staff cat adjuster but i don't see much future in this fo r what i want to do. I would like to do risk management for a major international company with the opportunity for travel and good pay. I am motivated and am willing to do what it takes. The problem is I am not sure how to get in the pipe line. I have heard that Zurich is big. I guess my question is how do you make the jump from cat adjusting regular casualty and property claims, to commercial claims. (P.S. i AM WORKING ON THE ASSCOCIATE IN RISK MANAGEMENT.) Thank's Sbhim |

Sbihm, there is a rather large body of literature on the general subjects of both risk management and commercial adjusting, commercial policies, and commercial risks. Without knowing more specifically what you are looking for, the suggestion of sites would only be a stab in the dark. If you can be a little more specific, I will be happy to suggest some sites for you, or you can email me if you wish with a more specific list of questions which you may have. I'll try to find the answers for you. |
