Doc, CADO is currently exploring group insurance rates and packages which we hope to ultimately be able to offer to our members. Conversations are already in progress as we shop for the best rates, packages, service and security which we can feel comfortable presenting. This will also include possible life, health, disability and E&O coverages.

We will keep you posted as this progresses.

guys- i appreciate the feedback. i've already been surfing the net looking for info/solutions, but there doesn't seem to be a lot immediatley available- that 60% projected decrease in costs aparently hasn't yet translated into present reality. and i will be shopping area agents and markets like mad this week to try to find lower rates. actually, the single biggest concern i have is the health insurance premium. that sucker goes up every year and has doubled in the last three years. at that rate, it wont be many years before it's completely unafordable. obviously, i gotta get some relief on this. i was wondering if there is any association of adjusters through which we could get group rates, or any mechanism by which we could lock in the premiums to avoid these large increases.

The Booz-Allen Hamilton study can be found at the website: http://www.bah.com/press/insurance.html
in the event there may be those who would like to read the broader comments and explanation.

As always, we will continue to post this kind of information for all of our readers when we come across it, and hope that others will as well.

Doc's tomcat, Last mon. I received a premium notice for our auto insurance. The premium went up $400.00 for 2 cars. I did as all insureds seem to do, that is shop around. I found a policy for $288.00 less than the previous premium that I paid. By the way I also got more coverage. From the history of that carrier it was an excellent company. My advise is to shop around, it could be in your best interest. Is your agent really helping you?

Tomcat, a post by Jim on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at 01:43 pm under the USAA discussion mentioned some research that indicated you may see up to a 60% decreased in the cost of insurance in general. The valid question he raised was does this mean you will see a 60% decrease in your income in order to get the savings? Some adjusters are already experiencing a 60% decease in certain cost today.

guys- premiums for coverages on life, health, disability, auto, & liability are eating my lunch. i know a lot of the people reading these forums must have the same problem, and would be interested in what anybody has to say about reducing these cost without dropping the coverages.
