I want to Thank each of the following wonderful professional adjusters for sharing their time with each other and with me last night here in Chicago at the Inaugural CADO Social/Dinner: Jim Lakes, the National Catastrophe Director of RAC Adjustments. Jim is possessed of a great deal of wisdom which comes from experience and has some exciting ideas for advancing this industry. Howard Pyland, an adjuster and an attorney who handles large commercial losses for RAC Adjustments. It is nice to know we now have someone to help keep Alan Jackson straight. Linda Asberry, our CADO policy wizard who is working for Crawford/State Farm in the Chicago windstorm. She is just as knowledgeable in person as she is on the CADO Forum. Watch out for this Lady, she is going places! Harry Ohling an adjuster from Denver who is working this storm for RAC Adjustments. Harry is also an RVing adjuster with a great sense of humor. Russell Doe, a CADO friend of long standing, and also working for RAC Adjustments on this storm. I am going to recommend to Roy that we make Russell the CADO Social Director. Russell did a magnificent job in selecting a wonderful restaurant, arranging a private dining room, and serving as the perfect host. Thanks Again Russell! Paul Bagnato, an adjuster from New York & New Jersey who is working in Chicago for Pilot. Paul is/was working here with Allstate prior to the storm. I was impressed that he also is licensed in 7 states and working on the rest. Paul brings a lot of energy, enthusiasm and intellect to cat adjusting! Bryan Fleming is an adjuster working for Lindsey Cunningham and from the Memphis area. Welcome aboard Bryan. (Note to Randy Gray, keep this guy on the road more often, he is a good man!) Gene Angelotti is a former staff and then independent cat adjuster who is now a restoration contractor in the Chicago area. His background was most helpful in providing insights into this industry and what problems we are experiencing. Finally, there was a slightly overweight bald headed adjuster from NC present working for GAB on this storm, but his name escapes me. He is neither real fast nor real slow, but rather half fast as an adjuster. A good time was had by all and we hope to be able to repeat this again next week (as soon as Russell finds us another great restaurant, and we can also find a night when Roy can attend). We shared a lot of interesting war stories, some great insights were passed around regarding the future of the catastrophe industry, what CADO can do to help, and finally, we all agreed that with more and more opportunities like this to meet one another and put a face with a screen name, we can stop some of the backbiting, personal attacks, and negativism which we often hear about and sometimes see here on the CADO boards. For those of you who missed it, the loss was yours. We invite you to join us for the next one! "If You're Not Connected To CADO, You're Not Connected To Cat Adjusting." (My new motto by the way). |

CADO readers, regulars, friends, and all adjusters are invited to a "Dutch style" dinner tomorrow night at 7 O'Clock PM at Porter's Steakhouse in the Buffalo Grove area of Chicago, located at 100 McHenry Road. Please email either Russell Doe (RDoe@aol.com) or myself if you would like to attend so we can give the restaurant a "head count." We have already heard back from many CADO adjusters who plan on attending. Come join us. This should be a lot of fun away from home and a chance for you to put a face with the names you see here on the CADO boards. |
