BE PREPARED!
The weather channel is reporting that local residents are "on the streets" looking for motels, even as far away as Tampa! The rooms are already gone!! They have also reported a major mesquito infestation, and expect it to be worse after the storm!

During Hurricane Fran, the local residents had filled up the motels and RV parks long before we got there! There was no power, no batteries, scarce food and water.

The answer is to take with you what you need. Be prepared to sleep in your car or tent for at least a few days. One easy way to get around the mess is to join in with a few other guys, and rent an apartment! Believe it or not, some of the apartment houses with high vacancies will allow short term month to month rentals. The deal is that they increase the rental rate by 50%. Split among 2-3 people, it is still cheaper than a motel!

Hope this helps! See you out there! Lyndon
