I currently have multiple versions of Xactimate running. My 5.9 latched out and I called tech support who wanted to charge me the $20 for resetting the latch. After a short "conversation" regarding the relative merits of their new system, the tech support guy advised me I could use web chat to reset my latch. So I signed on and sure enough I was able to use text chat to reset. It was painless and quick. Since I am at home using my cable modem, it was pretty seamless. I don't know what dial-up on the road might be like, but I guess we maybe need to try the new things that are being offered up. Dale Strain

And nothing like waiting 15 minutes when the call is NOT to a toll free number. And Jack, it's TWENTY ($20.00) per call. My Xactimate popped expired and I called to get it unexpired. They wanted my credit card number for the $20.00. Since I'm not working, at this moment, I'll save my $20.00. So I decided to be really witty and go to their website and figure it out. As I said, I'll wait until I work again. I guess I'm not witty enough. I'm still expired. Or my Xactimate is, anyway. |

I would just like to be able to get into contact with them without a 15 minute wait. I have been trying for 3 days to get a 2002 disc sent out for a company I work for in Calif. It is unreal the hassles that go along with sending the disc. Why can't they download it over the web? I have sent a feedback message to them. The customer support is terrible. |

X mate is overpriced garbage.....I would not use it if they gave it to me for free. I hear they now are charging 10.00 per call to support it. |

I agree that the program is not as easy as the old one, but the new version of 2002 is much better that the first one. The key is having the right operating system and enough meg to run it. I use windows 2000 pro and have 512 meg of ram. I'm not having any trouble using the program. The additional forms they've added in the Americam Family version have made it better. The sketch section is a little hard at first but gets easier each time you use it. Good luck, I know we're going to get to use it for quite some time. |
