Farmers is making calls looking for adj. to train into their mold area for work in TX. Adj will go to mold school & only work mold claims. It will be a staff job but you will have claims emailed to you, work out of your office/home, have a staff car. Will be salaried & base of salary will be based on education & experience. Salary is to be better than a normal staff position & yet will not be as grand as what we can make in a fantastic year. As always there are pro & cons. Should you choose to work mold claims please consider working with a good allergist to ward off the damage exposure could do to your body. There are ways of protecting yourself. |

This is to provide a private discussion on the proper handling of the mold related claims that are now,and will, for an extended period of time, be here and have to be addressed. Some carriers are STILL in denial and others have been overextending themselves. Many adjusters are working these files, and still more are contemplating taking the long term assignments. Most are in Texas, but you can expect this to move very rapidly to other segmnents of the Southeast, Califorinia, and especially up NORTH. The typical water damages from an "Ice Dam" condition, will matriculate into a more substancial claim, due to the propensity and possibility of mold being activated by water inside the walls. At the very least you are going to have to engage a testing facility, which will add to the cost of the claim, and if it is determined that the mold is present and it is toxic, then you have to deal with the remediation and restoration. Now, instead of closing 5-8 of these a day, you will be lucky to start closing 1 a day after the first 30-45 days. Things are changing, and we MUST be aware of this and be receptive to the changes. "THE OLD WAYS ARE NOW THE WRONG WAYS", in some instances. Just be aware of what the possibilities are, before you accept a simple winter storm assignment, be prepared, have all of the necessary equipment with you and above all LEARN what to do and more importantly, learn what NOT TO DO. Please exercise all caution, those of you, that are working on the Mold claims. Constant exposure to the various types, even in small doses can be harmful. You can liken it to radiation, the more "rads" your body assimilates the more vulnerable you become. |
