Just heard from an adjuster who has been in Tenn for 2 months. Last week an adjuster was shot to death in a motel/hotel parking lot when he fought for his lap top computer. No name or vendor known. The murder was in Jackson, Tenn&160; ** Tim Johnson posted the adjuster survived and he was working for Natiowide. Bad injury.

I am sure all you flat landers have seen this. The streets are 22 inches lower than the top of the slab (Houston). The streets are designed to flood during down pours and drain into the storm drains that drain into the ship channel that drain into Galveston Bay etc.

It will be interesting to watch as the Supreme Court hears agruments on whether to assess Exxon with punitive damages as some 30,000 Alaskans are hoping.&160; The original fine of $5B was cut in half to $2.5B with about&160;2 billion in interest.&160; There is over a billion of that in attorney fees and I have to wonder how much the damaged individuals will eventually have in their hand.

With all the talk of an economic slowdown on the horizon and the dreaded r word being used more often how will this affect claims handling. For those of you employed by either IA firms or carriers presently, do you see your workloads increasing or decreasing if a recession hits. It could be good for IA firms as carriers downsize their claims departments. It could be a boon as claims volumes increase due to economic difficulties. What do you folks see happening

Honestly I don't see this flying with the insurance companies. I'm sure they will try to crush it. It will only drive costs up for them. I can see where it would help get more professionalism into the industry but I can also seeing it turn into a monster.

The policy covers trees up to $500 ea. if destroyed by fire.
The insured has other structure coverage with a limit of $10,000.00. The insured has a tree house which is bolted and nailed into a 40' tree. The tree house and tree are destroyed in a fire.
