About 20 years ago some of the old timers told me the people who make a good living in catastrophe adjusting have 4 key days and the deployments were roof claims for the most part and I think its a good gauge. Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th and Lqabor Day. It,s a fact a farmer will not have a good crop if it does bot rain enough or rains too much. Kinda like the cat. adjuster huh? Needs weather events over large populated areas.

Well, seems impossible for me to be deployed. No, I'm not deployed this Labor Day, so I'm stuck being away from home selling roofs in Denver. So if anyone has any suggestions on getting deployed please let me know. I've been here for four years and god willing another four. BUT I JUST NEED SOME WORK.

Here's the secret that many do not know about holidays. This is especially true if you are working on branch assist beside staff adjusters for a firm like GAB or Crawford who have both staff and independents working for them. Psst! Come in close, cause I don't want the staffies to overhear.

When Memorial Day or Labor Day weekend or any other three day weekend comes around and you are already on assignment -- instead of taking that weekend off, kick into overdrive and put in about a forty five hour three day weekend. Then, come the day after the holiday walk into the claim manager's office and set your fifty closed files that you finished up over the long weekend right in front of him or her, front and center. Don't brag about how many hours you put in. The pile of files speaks for itself. You see, the staff adjusters just spent three days kicking back and drinking beer and yours are the only files in front of the manager. This leaves a lasting impression. That manager will be cursing you for making him (or her) work, and blessing you for singlehandedly making the office production goals for the month. Who do you think they are going to ask for when they need help with their overflow again?

When do you get your three day weekend? Well you simply save them up and take ten or twelve weeks off when the assignment ends.
