    Here is an interesting way to remove the wood shingles from a roof.

    I think there's another thread that refers to "experts".

    If the guy (or gal) running the levers on the loader is not an expert, you'll never see one.

    Man, he really made quick work of that roof. I assume that those are the only type of shingle anything like this would work for though.

    That is a dangerous video. You know some hayseed saw that and thought "heck I can do that", and is still trying to figure out what went wrong.

    I am not sold, as the uplift of all the nails on each shingle would cause the rafters(joist) and the perlines or chards to pop nail heads on the dryywall ceiling(a guess)

    Ray, Thats just collateral damage, and an acceptable risk for any one who take such shortcuts. Much like using a powerwasher on the kitchen tile.

    Is collateral damage paid by the insuror?  Lots of woodshingle roofs in the south do not have a solid deck, but use shingle lath.
