I agree with husker cat there is no class that can teach you the policy's in one day or a week and question's you will have out in the field. I have been doing this for 6+ years and still have question on weekly basis and also cat work. You will see alot of things over and over but this does mean it should be handled the same way. You will work for serveral claims mageres that do want it done different than previous manager and you just will need to adapt. Most polices are generaly the same but there are different ways that the company would like to see it worked, always beware of the policys for the company you are working for and the way they want you handle certain things may be different. These classes are good but the compaines are always changing so is this indusrty. You will not become an adjuster over night or from a class.

I don't believe that anyone can boast that they took a 1 week class and now is an expert adjuster. If you are looking to become a real adjuster not a one storm wonder, it will take years and many mistakes, as well as lessons learned from those said mistakes. But every journey begins with that first step and some form of reputable schooling seems to be the best first step someone could take. After that first step though you have to continue with education in anyway you can receive it. If you stop with that 1 week school you are one step closer to becoming an adjuster, but you still have miles to go.

New and old odjusters are all being evaluated by both sides of lawsuites now being filed and naming the adjusters as defendants From the top down the carrier, vendor and individual "competant adjuster" by definition. This is not a good time for new or old catastrophe adjusters or schools turning out worms.

No... worm adjusters only eat the easy fruit that falls on the ground.  They will not climb , bore or dig. 

If you want to be named in a lawsuit, adjust insurance claims. You will be lucky if the wolves don't take the hide off the new adjusters. Ole Kold King is just waiting, out there on his high horse, for you to make a mistake so he can tell the world what a worm you are.

Once apon a time I took a one week course and was certified to operate a septic tank suction truck. Is there any real difference between that and being an AjEsTeR? Particularly one of them there storm troopin' fellers ya see in the motel parking lots?

In my hometown of Worms, Nebr, we call'em Nightcrawlers.  Actually, that's also the name of the bar there.  2-lane asphalt county road with no white lines,  and population 38 if you ever find your way passing thru Nebr on I-80.  About a 25 mile sidetrack for you, and good accomadations in Grand Island for a stayover.  Weds & Fri are best in Worms.  It's Nut & Gut Nite on Weds (deep fat fried testicles, livers & gizards), Fridays are comic night with stand-ups from Denver to KC.  Larry the Cable Guy stumbled in once by accident & might be back.   Sat & Sun are sand volleyball with farm girls of all sizes and shapes in their Daisy Dukes.   Be a good Wormite if you ever travel this way.  

I just might pass on the vacation trip I was planning to Worms after hearing your description of what goes on out there on the prairie. I just might go visit that giant ball of twine instead.

In your honor, Steve, I've suggested we begin collecting/assembling a ball of baling wire & duct tape.  It could take awhile though, as those are very valuable commodities out here on the prairie.  Don't be afraid to stop by though.  We're on the way to everywhere.  Just ask the drug dealers.   There isn't a week that goes by that the local State Patrol and their sniffy dogs pull in a couple trunk loads of weed, cocaine, a boat load of cash, etc., on it's way from the West Coast to Chicago or the East Coast.  Never did get that, there's plenty of good weed growing right here in the ditches....why haul it from California?
