I have been on the contractor side now I want to be on the adjuster side more or less. Sales isnt my ideal gig, but I am good at roof evals, and have done over 200 for hail damage.

How do I break in? I am not HAAG ceritified though, but had a residential contractors license in FL.

Who are some of the companies in the Charlotte area? I know after the past storm on April 9th they are everywhere.

Please email me at johnnylawrence7 at gmail if there is anyone that could use help, or know anyone that does.

    HMMM you can wait for a big hurricane take a 3 day course and claim I are an adjsuter. Get hired, if your lucky make some money and run before the complaints and law suites start;

    or

    wait for it

you could read the hundreds and hundreds of posts on this topic and mayby just maybe be able to make an educated descion if you want to be an adjuster and have some idea how to start.

Life is like a sewer, what you get out of it depends on what you put in it

    Larry,

I can appreciate a new person asking questions. What I can't understand is why are you asking CADO about IA firms in Charlotte!!

You live there and probably know more about Charlotte than anyone here.  If in fact you don't live there, how much effort would it take to just  G-O-O-G-L-E independent adjusting firms/Charlotte, N. Carolina ?

You must first look for yourself !! If you still have questions after that, well hell even Ray Hall would be happy to guide you to the end of the rainbow.

If you can't make a living as a contractor(No shame in that brother) becoming an adjuster will NOT solve your financial problems, atleast the first few months won't if somehow you were deployed.

Forbes magazine did a study on the world of the self employed and listed the top 10 most expensive trades with the highest operating costs.

    Guess what ?

Nope, independent adjusters is NOT the most expensive trade to be in.

That distinction belongs to Tour players in the PGA and those in the minor leagues of golf (Tour players on the Nike Tour.)

Right behind that is an independent claims adjuster. Larry you will have to float your expenses on site

(fuel,food,lodging,XM8 scribe) for a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks and in some cased over 60 days. Right there is an easy 5 to 7 grand.

You obviously know something about my industry because you spoke of  not being HAAG certified. You don't need to be HAAG certified to pretend you're an adjuster. However it couldn't hurt so why don't you go get certified ,it's only 899.00. The fact that you have done 200 roof scopes is enough to satisfy the minimum standards to be eligible for taking the course.

In closing, it takes a helluva lot more than 200 roof evaluations to become a solid roof assessor

All I can say is that if you cannot sell, then you will have a problem adjusting claims also.
