Tim,
I live in Atlanta we got flooded like you yet no flood seminars have ever been here. Crawford and Co. holds a conference here in April You could attend and if so they offer the NFIP course at no charge. The flood seminars used to be only $10.00 plus NFIP gladly sent CE credit to your home state. When everyone got on the bandwagon with licensing then NFIP joined in and shot the cost up then stopped sending CE credit.
You can take Ray's advice with Colonial but be wary of this I worked with Colonial twice both times I swore I would never do that again as they changed every estimate, every report and refused to pay what we had agreed. I have a very low opinion of Doug B who runs Colonial. I work with Simsol but they only hire experience and just having a license is not considered experience.
And just for Chuck not sure how you worked flood in Katrina when your last license was that old. NFIP is diligent about your having to be certified every year, regardless of experience, and must have a separate FCN I have seen vendors try to circumvent that rule and seen NFIP pull all their files and then re=assign those to licensed flood adjusters to completely rework
Flood work has slowed down with the economy. i prefer Flood because you do not need a ladder and do not use Xactimate
