Roy this new forum is very nice. Entering a new post is like using a real word processor and is so much easier to use than when typing a message into the old forum. This is at least the third total change out of the CADO forum engine that I can remember over the years but I think this one is going to be a quantum leap over anything in the past. While I have no idea as to have many files the last forum but had I am sure it was getting next to impossible to manage and keep running in a speedy fashion. Having access to the old forum means the useful info is there if one is interested.

Posting with our full names should be very positive for image of CADO. Sometimes we forget that the old days of “flaming” posters that we disagree with is no longer accepted behavior. I think the current political news today about how one’s instant messaging (IM) and blogs can live longer than we would prefer will have a larger impact on what we post on the World Wide Web. People today are losing jobs or not being hired because in a simple Google search their online activities may be known to all. Many of us have been willing to post things that we would have never verbalized in a face to face setting.

Over the years I have watched you manage CADO so skillfully and how you were able to stick to your objectives when many were trying to push you one direction or another. Web based public forums are a relative new development and as with all new things there are the bright side and dark side. In today’s legal environment really the laws of internet usage are just developing. The web is enabling new claims handling solutions at were not possible or not affordable in the past. CADO has without question caused many to see the need for more professionalism in the claims handling industry. Carrier boardroom discussions now include what will be the web response to a planned action. Vendors know their accountability records will be viewed quickly and publicly.

Keep up the great job and stick with your convictions. I for one could have never been patient enough to have done what you have done with CADO.

Thank you for all you have done for adjusters and the entire industry.

Nice Post, Gale, Thanks for the reminder that our "moment of fame" might just be something that we'd choose to forget, but can't since it will live in infamy on this interesting  highway of information we call the World Wide Web!

I for one will certainly be thinking of what I want out there with my name attached!

I second those kudos to Roy for the enormous task of managing this site and the valuable insights and education provided here.  I know I've become a CADO 'junkie" and  have learned so very much from reading the posts here.  I do want to add my thanks to you Roy, for making this available to all of us!

Well Meg it looks like you, Debbie and I were starting treads all about the same time. I am enjoying learning more about the new word processor features. Last time the forum engine changed it took me a while to learn it but this one seems to be easy to pick up.

Naturally after Roy gets it fulling integrated so one login works for the entire site navigation will be better. That may take a while since I am sure it is a huge task but at least we are able to start learning how the new forum works and Roy is getting real live feedback. It is kind of like in Beta testing stage I guess.

Because I had not set my login to this new area to automatically login each time I was wondering why I could not open the treads that I could see. One active hurricane about to make landfall would be all it would take to make most willing to take the time to upgrade to this new forum engine. The more people that post on this new forum the faster the needed tweaks will be put in place. After I learned clicking on Cancel after previewing just takes you back to edit mode  and Update actually loads the new post I was good to go.

We in west Ky had overcast on Wednesday but the farmers were back shelling corn and beans yesterday and it is down into the 40's last night with no rain in sight. Maybe your storms will be replaced with like weather.

Yes, Gale, I was surprised when I finally figured out how to actually post that the three of us were of like mind getting some threads going!  Well, they say, Great Minds Think Alike!!

I guess I was wrong, it seemed this morning that the rains were subsiding, but shortly afterward it started raining again, and has been coming down most of the day!  Wondering if I'm going to get a break in the rain to be able to rush out to the store..(a grocery emergency, I need coffee! LOL)   If my driveway is any indication of what's going on locally here, we may well have some local flooding.  Driveway is a pool right now, it was like that this morning but seeped into the ground, but the pooling is back again, guess the ground is getting saturated now....an indication of how much rain is falling here....its pouring right now!  I don't mean puddling, I mean pooling!

Oh, by the way, I "teased" Kyser a bit the other afternoon in class, got a good laugh out of Ashely at the end....remind me to tell you about it in chat!

I have to agree that the new forum will work much better than the other. I have always thought that real names should be used, as some posters who post negative and argumentative posts, will refrain from doing so. Some like to hide behind some weird anonymous name.

This will take some getting used to, but I applaude Roy for continually trying to improve CADO for its original purpose, that being good resourceful information to licensed property and casualty adjusters. Now, all we need is a good storm so we can all survive this year.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Grumble Grumble Grumble. negative negative negative...I thought we were supposed to use real names now? What gives....texascat & storm..yall on some most wanted poster in some post office or something?

Just playing guys..you know I don't care...everything looks nice around here. Hopefully things will run smoother on here now.  Its nice that we have an area where we can grow as a community and not be so serious all the time. I don't know about you guys, but I have to deal with enough ________ (you insert your own word here: ie the word I used is also another part of the body) at work as it is.

    Best wishes from Alabama

    Hi folks!
This new format will take some getting used to...but like everything else in the adjusting trade, change happens. I can only imagine how much work went into the new CADO; I have trouble enough keeping my laptop up-to-date!
Thank you for your continued dedication and all the effort you perform on behalf of the claims industry.
PS- Please mail me my "stars" from my old account.

I'm with Clay. Where do our first and last names appear, except on our profiles, Roy?  I don't mind a bit, just wondering. Also testing how the new posting works.

    By the way,

    I'm Paige

as in Paige Haddock, in case anyone is looking.  I have a home in Pearland, Tx., can't say I live there all year though.

    Hi Paige,

Thank you and thanks to everyone for their comments and support.

We now have two forums, the Community Forums and the Catastrophe Central forums.  In the community forum user names or screen names are displayed in the Catastrophe Central forums your full name is required and displayed.  My aimed was to allow the Community forums to be a little looser and to be place where members of the community could meet and feel like they were among friends to discuss almost any topic.

    Take Care,

    Roy

    Roy

Thank You for all your hard work changing cado. Maybe now it will get back to what you set it up for. With out all the bickering.I think the full name will help alot.I'm sure some will find a way around that also. Making you forever having to keep your finger on the delete key.

    Thank You Again
