From the stats that are published here, we have over 10,000 registered members/guests. And yet the majority are non -paying guests who have only privileges to access our open forums.

There is some really good inside information which needs to be disseminated. This is contained in the "Adjusters Den" which is accessible by the paying members only.

Why can 90+ percent read what is open to the public and only less than 10% pay for the privilege of accessing the "Den" and providing the funds necessary to run this web site?  Astounding that so few support so many. Reminds me of the war in Iraq, all gave some but some gave all.

It may behoove many of the "guests" to join in the fray and see what they are missing. Just an opinion.

    Hi Dave,

Sorry for the confusion with the Adjuster's Den. When I moved it from the prior location I did not reinstate the paid membership requirement. Currently the Den is open to all registered users so paid membership is not required. However, a user must login to enter the Den. We can make a change in the future if needed.

Adjuster's den? What the flip??? I'm annoyed for two reasons: (1) I see no link anywhere to it, which makes me feel dumb, and (2) I'm a dues-paying member and demand to be on the A-list. The A+++ list. Email me. Call me anytime but never.

Edit: I can't guarantee a "workable" hurricane, but I can produce a meeting of minds the equivalent of a maelstrom...with a little help from my friends...Hey Robin! Where are you?

     Et al:

    1) The original concept of having the adjusters den, was IMHO an area where the dues paying members were to be able to air their specific concerns without the general public, (i.e. registered FREE users) having certain "insider information" which we chose to share with our compatriots.

2 ) The fact that anyone can view our most intimate concerns really bothers me and now that i know that whatever is posted is "common knowledge" the posts must be curtailed significantly.   OR< changed back to what was the original intent, my personal opinion.

    2) IMHO, the "adjusters den" is for all the adjusters that chose to belong and elect to pay their dues to obtain the information contained therein.

    3) The information posted is credible, cogent and privileged

I can't  find the Adjusters Den either.  I thought it had been discontinued.

    Dave,

Good point Dave, before it was not getting much action, however, I can make the change and will do so today.  The Adjuster's Den for those looking is at the bottom of the list of Forums.

Great Roy, looking forward to the changes.

I'm sure that no one in this industry expects a "free lunch" and with the low pricing you have, it will behoove every adjuster to have access to the "den".

While this year has not yet come into it's own, with any significant storms requiring the needs we are famous for, the minimal costs for your membership should not be an issue.

I am not a paying member and I do agree with the above quoted text. However, I did not know there was an option of becoming a paying member nor do I believe that becoming a paid member would prevent lurking into a "privileged" conversation. I believe there will always be those in any industry who desire priviledge by entitlement whether real or perceived.

It has been thru this invaluable website that I learned of Claimsmenter where I have participated approapriately in forum as a new adjuster. There, without getting eaten alive or driving the experienced adjuster into insanity, I have eagerly prospered. I must commend, although nearly a year late, for Roy Cupps having taken action refocusing CADO on transparentcy and bringing a halt to the school yard bully type BS. The "open" sophisticated professional forum discussions and posts I enjoy reading here on CADO are exemplary of the individual and collective body of CADO adjusters of which are commendable and worth emulating as new IA professionals.

As the approaching height of hurricane season sheds light on the probability of claim service, disaster deployment or lack thereof, I implore that all of us remain professionally behaved, especially those of you seasoned professionals who are admired here on CADO. You specifically are too important to the adjusting industry, inside and out, staff or independent, to become discounted or worse, disrespected by your own redundant unprofessional authority.

Frankly, I hope this "land fall" hurricane season begins to happen in a couple more weeks so that you old dogs can get to work and "quit yer bitchin" before it even starts. Then, us new pups can in-fill the disaster field as needed.

    Best Regards

How does one become a paying member?  Is this the same as a Gold Member?.

I am on the Gold Member list, although I have not paid for at least a year.

I looked around for a way to become a paying member and the only method I found was the Gold Member thing and that seems to just accept PayPal.  I was hoping to use the credit card.

I will be happy to pay my "dues" for this fine website.  Just point me in the correct direction.

    Thanks

    Hi Jeff,

Gold Membership is the only paid membership we have on CADO.  We offer two payment gateways, PayPal and 2checkout.com.  I think you are looking for 2checkout.com, however, with both you can use a credit card.  To use a credit card with PayPal you just select the continue as shown in the image below when you get to the payment screen.  2checkout.com  takes all credit cards and echecks.  The 2checkout payment is below the Paypal payment options on the Gold Membership page.  I had failed to move it from the old page until I saw your post.

Users can also become paid members by clicking on their name at the top of almost all CADO pages after they login which takes them to their site profile. Once there they select Manage Services to subscribe as a Gold Member. See the image below.

    (Edit added the text below)

BTW, Dave this is the second time we have went over 10,000 user mark.  The first time was around 9/12/2006, however, when we moved from using the old forum user database to the current database on 10/6/2006 about 2,500 accounts were not moved.

A interesting note about CADO membership, on 8/13/2004 the day Hurricane Charley hit we had around 3,300 registered users, when the 2005 hurricane season ended on 11/30/2005 we had grown to over 7,100.

    Jeff,

If you select the PayPal option you can pay with a credit card even if you don't have a PayPal account.

Can not understand the almost complete lack of participation in the employer rating and non-payment section that Roy has been so kind as to set up for us.

This is meant to advise all the Independent adjusters of which IA firms pay as agreed and which ones do not. If their name appears on the list there is a problem, which can and should be resolved.

Despite the many complaints which have been posted on CADO, and despite the inaction on the part of the IA vendor, there have been but 2 posts made.  There is one post that is so on target, as personally i have heard of several dozen adjusters who have waited 2-3 years to be paid, if at all.

Where are all those that got scammed by the nefarious "Fat Eddie" ? Who is now hiding out of the country, according to published newspaper reports.

If in fact you need directions on how to post it, send a message to one of us and we will walk you through the process.

If, in fact, no one chooses to list the culprits, then y'all may just get what you now have, NOTHING.

We professionals try and provide guidance, in the form of education, advice and so many other concerns which befit and befall our profession. Why do some still insist that they re-invent the wheel? If you are told a fire will burn you, do you stick your hand in it, to be sure?

Is there a fear among you that IF you post you will be "blackballed" or seen as a troublemaker to other vendors, for telling the truth? Balderdash. The better IA Vendors would like to see the poor ones fail, and be run out of town on a rail because they then will pick up the business the culprits have lost.

The carriers surely will respect your comments, as they could not be aware of all of the activities of these nefarious and guilty vendors, and surely would not wish to be exposed to any kind of legal actions or aggravation from policy holders whom have had a lien placed on their property, or a demand for payment for services rendered.

Every state is different, and the laws related to liens are different. The bad guys know the laws, as we do not take the time to investigate them and just head out the door when the phone rings.

Time to wake up folks. This season is about to start, and we have to know who to just say NO to.

Either post up or close up.

Thanks Roy for your assistance, some of us appreciate it immensely.
